What a dump. Looked like an old slop house that they were trying to renovate. Construction everywhere. Room was on third floor and elevator wasn't working. Would have been nice to know all of this before booking. Bed was very comfortable and they had secure parking, which were the only positves.

It’s so smelly drug addicts are running the place no proper facilities. No proper parking. Room and the whole hotel was smelling and under construction. They never mentioned this on the website. Pictures are not real.

To be fair it is under renovations. The room we stayed in was CLEAN and nice however there was no hot water at night and no cold water in the morning and no air conditioning. Also there is no bolt on the door (which is alarming for solo female travellers) it was also very apparent that on the event of a fire everyone was going to die. No windows to open and no easy stair accesss.

The Landlord (owner/operator) is a very hands on person and will do anything to make your stay go pleasantly . The building will be beautiful when he’s done his renovations . Definately come back

As of May 2026 the hotel is undergoing renovations. Serious renovations. The room was finished and clean with excellent work showing, but the elevator is nonfunctional and the floors have to be reached on stairs stripped of flooring, carpets, and even paint. If you have difficulty climbing 48 stairs to reach the rooms on the second floor, you may want to spend your stay in Kenora at a different Hotel. If you are interested in comfortable rooms, reasonable rates, excellent facilities within the room, with a fine restaurant, and are not put off by a hefty dose of exercise, then please be aware that the Kenricia Hotel is a wonderful spot for a good night's rest.

Made me wait 20 mins in the cold because there wasn’t anyone at front desk,I paid for a partial lake view that didn’t exist (was all alleyway) elevator didn’t work so had to carry luggage up to third floor, zero hot water after letting it run for 10 mins, and there was a dead bird under my bed that when I brought up to staff they did absolutely nothing for me. It was unhygienic and disgusting, the health department should shut it down, and atleast refund me

My review is similar to many here. The property is in the midst of a renovation. The rooms they rent are all completely renovated, clean and comfortable. But as yet, there is no elevator. My room was on the 3rd floor. The hallways were clear, but it’s clearly a construction zone. The parking was secure, but a bit unconventional. Your key card unlocks the door, then you have to slide it open, drive in, and close it behind you. But it was nice to have my car warm and secure.

The people who own the place are rehabbing it, so there is no lift, you must use the stairs. The stairwells are bare and because of the area you need a code to get past the first floor. The room was a generous size, had a good bed and decent shower with good fluffy towels. It has a coffee machine fridge and some dishes along with a couch sitting area. There is locked safe parking for your vehicle.

This hotel is under renovation and should be in the market. No elevator, going up the stairs to 3ed florr, cold air blowing in the room from around the window AC, staris are not carpeted and are noisy, for parking you have to go around the hotel and open the manual gate and close it manually. The reception staff was nice and helpful, but the hotel condition is uninhabitable. Dirty carpet in the room.

The rooms were nice. The single staff member was as helpful as he could be. But the air conditioner was a portable machine that didn't keep the room cool. When we checked in, a staff member said the hotel was under renovation and that we could cancel our reservation. This was a Friday evening in the height of the tourism season. We should have been informed weeks before we arrived. The hallway smelled strongly of feces and urine. On the Saturday afternoon of our stay, there was animal feces in the hallway. It wasn't large, but it wasn't sanitary. Also, there is very little parking for the hotel. If you have a small vehicle, they have indoor parking. Though if you have a SUV or a Truck, there is an area behind the hotel that is owned by another company in which you are allowed to park if not in use. All other parking in downtown Kenora is paid parking with a two-hour limit. This hotel is VERY OVERPRICED!

The hotel was under renovation when I arrived. But walked up to the room and discovered a beautiful view and clean room. However the elevator was not working so I had to walk up 2 floors. The place was a gem.
