“We were walking The Dales Way and arrived on a very wet Sunday afternoon. The staff at the pub were extremely welcoming and reserved us a table for dinner. The shepherds hut was lovely and cosy (underfloor heating), exactly what we needed after a long wet walk! The breakfast hamper was very welcome too.”

“Stayed here with a friend in preparation for Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge. Check in very easy. Warm welcome. Very hospitable staff. We had to leave the hotel early next morning before kitchen opened but staff left us breakfast (cereals, yogurt etc) out for us which was really appreciated. Also made us sandwiches to take with us. Pub/bar and food was really good. Cosy. ”

“If you would like to experience living in a 400 year old cottage, with many original features, surrounded by so much beauty and peacefulness, then this is the place for you! I cannot recommend it enough. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by hens and cats. We were then shown to our ‘living area’, bathroom and upstairs - a double bed and bunk beds. The hosts were so welcoming and helpful. There were so many extras included - books, binoculars, tea/coffee/hot chocolate/fresh...

“Plenty of parking next to hotel room. In my case I could see my motorcycle from the hotel window. Large well appointed clean room with excellent en suite. Lovely views over surrounding hills. Cozy pub with real fire. Good full English breakfast and friendly staff. All good thanks and would stay again. ”

“River Dance cottage is a comfortable.clean and well presented holiday stay. The owners go to great lengths to ensure you feel welcome, and also have everything you need. A welcome pack of wine and tasty cookies are left for you to enjoy, the cottage has a fitted kitchen with all amenities. The towels are thick and fluffy too. Beds are well made and comfortable and the bathrooms have everything you need from shampoo and conditioner to hand soap. Highly recommend a stay here, it’s a shame we...
