We got caught between the Maui Banyan rental group and the actual Maui Banyan resort when trying to resolve issues. We had 3 days without water but couldn’t get any help from Expedia, the front desk because it was Maui Banyan or the Maui Bangan rental group because they were not onsite. My recommendation would be to rent directly from Maui Banyan.

Room was ok. I’ll start with the negatives. No table to eat at. There was only 1 chair on the patio. Would’ve been nice to at least have a bistro set out there. The beach umbrella was broken. No broom and dust pan to sweep the floor. No room to really prepare food and only the sink in the bathroom to wash the dishes. The positives were it’s a great location, close to the beach and some local restaurants and shopping. The grounds are well looked after. The pool area was good which had community BBQs. Price was good. I would stay here again as long as the price doesn’t increase.

First, the place isn’t 900 square feet; more like 200 sq ft. Secondly, 4 towels were to last the entire stay of 4 days. It should be noted that the place doesn’t have any cleaning services during the stay. Thirdly, the communication was slow. It was noted that the room entry code would be sent 4 days prior. It was sent the day before.

We met a lot of great people during our stay at Maui Banyan. It has timeshare holders, so a LOT of yearly repeat visitors. And no, it wasn’t even mentioned for us to buy, I don’t think they do it anymore. We only ever had 2 issues- one was an incorrect door lock code when we arrived, and one was being unable to get the air conditioning working in one bedroom. Both times management was able to help immediately. Things can always go wrong, but it how they handle it that matters, and they were fabulous. Our unit and hallways/ stairwells are a little dated, but decently clean. There were maintenance grounds workers every single day, and lovely to chat with. Our unit had absolutely everything we needed for our 2 week stay, and plenty of space for groceries and consumables. Never an issue to get pool loungers, even under umbrellas. BBQ grills are almost brand new, in the pool area, it was great to be able to make dinner. Loved the walkability and proximity to the highway. Kam 2 beach was immediately across the street, many beaches within a few minute drive if you are so inclined to go to as many as possible. Fred’s restaurant has always been one our favorites and it is right beside the condo.

The grounds the location the room and bed was awesome. Even though it their literature they said there might be bugs, there were roaches all over. We had to come home and fumigate suitcases and rewash everything. So not to infest our home, as that would be a nightmare! Our Lanai looked over to a parking garage. Not exactly what I had in mine. Kitchen was nice with all the amenities roaches were a deal breaker.

We stayed at Maui Banyan in Kihei over Labor Day weekend. The location was very convenient, with easy access to the beach, shops, and restaurants. We had free parking close to our unit, the pool area was small but had a nice pool, hot tub and outdoor eating area with access to 5 gas grills if you like to cook for the family. The condo itself had a good layout for two adults, featuring a full kitchen, one bedroom and two full bathrooms. Unfortunately, a significant downside was the air conditioning situation. The small/ old AC unit was ONLY in the living room and didn't cool the bedroom at all, making it too hot to sleep on the king sized bed. As a result, we had to use the small pull-out sofa in the living room, which was quite uncomfortable and definitely impacted our overall comfort. In summary, while the location was great, the lack of proper cooling in the bedroom was a major drawback.
That is the only AC unit for the entire condo. It blows directly into the furniture and not to the bedroom for sleeping. Poor AC placement!

Unfortunately, our stay wasn’t great. One of the closet doors wouldn’t close, the toilet didn’t work properly, and the mini fridge was very noisy. There was also confusion with the parking and door code—our code was shared with the guests next door, which felt very unprofessional. Lastly, there was no shampoo in the room, only two bottles of conditioner. Hope this helps improve things for future guests.

It’s a lovely and quiet area the beach is right across the street. Restaurant and shopping center are within a 10 to 15 min walk. They also provide towels, chairs, an umbrella and a cooler to use to take with you to the beach. The place is very clean and I cannot wait to go back.

Very well managed and maintained property.

We had a one week stay and enjoyed all aspects of the property. The unit was fully equipped with all the essentials and nice and clean. The complex is beautifully landscaped and maintained. The pool area is excellent and has excellent BBQ’s for grilling. The beach is across the street and although S. Kihei Rd is busy thoroughfare there is a good buffer zone and the area is quiet.

The place was beautiful, nice furniture and art. It had all the accomodations and amenities of home. The beach was a minute walk with good snorkeling. My husband thought the bed was a little hard but other than that, pretty perfect!

Well equipped apartment. But need to fix air-con.

The apartment is equiped with everything you need to spend your holiday time, for example, air-fryer, rice cooker, snokling equipment, beach parasol, swim board, chair, as well as basic kitchen things. Only one problem was that air conditioner was not working well. There was a wrong remote controller and we could not adjust temperature, moreover, one of the room device sometimes stopped working, then started to make BEEP sound every minute. So I had to turn off the air conditioner when sleep. However, the ceiling fans worked well.

Everything you need is with walking distance of the condo. The grounds are very well kept and 2 pools to choose from with grilling stations and covered seating areas. The beach is right across the street from the condos making it nice if you don’t want to drive to a beach. There’s plenty to find to eat and shop less than a five minute walk. Also close to the Wailea mall and Makena beach areas. Highly recommend for those who want to be able to fix meals during their stay to stray from being burned out from eating out every meal like a hotel stay. Everything you need is here.

We really like the Maui Banyon property. While it is an older condo complex, the grounds and facilities are well taken care of. Our condo, H210 was very comfortable with everything you need in the kitchen. The two bathroom were great for us as a party of two. The bed was extremely comfortable. We would definitely come back to this property and unit again.
