    The Space:

    Find yourself living the best life next to warm water and white sand here in Kihei when you make Kauhale Makai 212 your home away from home. Kauhale Makai means “Village by the Sea” in Hawaiian. The complex is an oceanfront property and is one of the few buildings in Kihei with central air-conditioning (a must during hot Hawaiian days). Perfect for families and groups of friends to enjoy, this condo has all of the comforts needed for a memorable stay including an open layout, a well-equipped kitchen, and a private balcony that will be the perfect place to sip a glass of wine each evening. When days heat up, there will be no lack of fun to be had mere steps from home base with a shared pool, hot tub, beach access, shuffleboard courts, and a sand volleyball court on-site. Not to mention, the free WiFi and TV in the living room will make streaming movies or catching up with friends back home a breeze.





    Kauhale Makai is right beside Waipu’ilani Park which includes Waipu’ilani Beach, tennis, shuffleboards and volleyball courts. Enjoy strolls in the mornings and watch the sunset in the evenings either by the beach or on your private balcony. In its Kihei location, you will be in the perfect spot to see those dreamy sunsets and feel like you have your own private oasis while still being near the best attractions on the island. When you want to grab a bite to eat, check out local shops, or stock up on groceries, hop onto South Kihei Road and you will find a plethora of local shops and restaurants to choose from. If you are feeling more adventurous, snorkeling, hiking amongst tropical foliage, ziplining, and so much more are readily available all over the island!

Great location and beautiful views

Beautiful condo with fantastic beach and sunset views. We loved waking up to the ocean, walking along the beach, and seeing Honu and sunsets every day. Location was great for venturing out around the island. We would definitely stay here again!

Pretty view, good location.

Enjoyed reading on the deck listening to the birds and looking at the view. The bed was the most comfortable bed and pillow I’ve had away from home. Location was close to multiple different beaches, shops, restaurants and grocery stores. We went to a different beach each day and also made a nice drive to the volcano.

Centric, Clean & Affordable

We loved this place. It’s right in Kihei and very close to nearby beaches and the town of Lahaina. It is a safe area and we had really nice views from our balcony. We received very clean and with a cute welcome bag with local goodies and snacks. I’d definitely come back!

Clean & beautiful location

Place was very clean. Balcony overlooks the lawn area with beautiful views of the ocean. Beds are not the most comfortable but okay. It was nice they had beach chairs, beach towels & some beach toys for our 3 year old. Pool, hot tub and shallow pool for kids was great. Vacasa was easy to get a hold of for any and all questions/needs. All over great stay & highly recommend.

Great location, family friendly

Really nice condo. Clean and well furbished. The kitchen table sits 4 people. Washing machine is 1,50$. 20 minutes to airport, about 30 to Lahaina, 25 to Wailea.

Hawaii Trip

We had a great time in Maui at this location. Close to the beach and just a short drive to shopping and other great beaches. Only down fall was the air conditioner wasn't working in the main area/master bed room but did have fans, the place did refund sone of money due to the amenities was not working. But overall was a great place to stay and would definitely come back. Also had a wondetful Aloha greating waiting for us when entering the room!!!!!!!!!

Property Not Available Last Minute

Less than 24 hours before we were supposed to check in we were advised this property was not available due to construction and a leak. The company offered two vacant properties but ultimately didn’t match what we’d so carefully selected in tandem with a second party we were traveling with. They did allow us to cancel and we were very, very lucky to find another unit elsewhere with less than 12 hours to spare. This made for a far more stressful mid-trip transition than necessary.

Great place for Maui holiday with family

We stayed in this unit with five adults and one child for five nights. It worked well for several reasons: it was close to the beach, so you could watch sunsets or walk; we used the kitchen for at least two meals a day; and the porch looked out on the yard and beach. The kitchen is tight and can only accommodate one person at a time. The other areas are spacious, and we did not feel crowded. We spent time each day at beach and went whale watching, which were all reasonably close to the unit. I liked the way Vacasa messaged me regularly with reminders and information.

Great location and property management

Our stay was from 7/24 - 7/27/2022. Prior to arrival at this property, we also stayed in Kaanapali from 7/21 - 7/24. PROS: (1) Vacasa, the property manager, was fantastic and very helpful. We received two follow up calls after check in, an email and text message before check in with clear check in instructions. (2) Location was minutes from beaches, parks and restaurants (3) Less than 5 minutes walk from parking lot the beach (4) We were greeted with a bag of snacks and treats (5) Equipped with kitchen essentials (6) Equipped with beach chairs and umbrellas but no snorkels or body boards like what we experienced in the previous property but it’s not really a con for us. CONS: (1) Bathroom and kitchen supplies such as toilet tissue and trash bags were on the cheap end. We were given 4 small rolls of cheap toilet papers. Luckily, they were just enough. (2) The building was very old. There was a murky smell. My brother also checked in the same building, different unit, and his unit also had the same smell. On the brighter side for us, his property manager was wayyy worst. Vacasa was awesome to us. (3) One of the bath towels smelled like metal (4) The area was super windy, but this fact is unrelated to the property.
