Perfect layout and stay for our sibling reunion

Joan provided a lovely home which was perfect for our sibling reunion. Everyone enjoyed their stay, slept well, had plenty of open space, nice rooms, and more to spare. It was centrally located—close to everything we wanted—even a walking trail just feet away.

kitchen and great room perfect for entertaining. Kitchen could be better equipped but we like to cook so makes a difference. Good communication with host. Had a great time!

Very dirty, trash everywhere. Smelled like mold and mildew. Contacted ghost and never received a response. Has so much potential

My family and i were in Killeen for my nephews Memorial. His parents came from Missouri, another Aunt came from Ohio, my niece ( the deceased sister) from Virginia. We chose this house so we could all be together. I had a hard time contacting the host for the entry code. The house was disgustinly dirty. We took pictures. Found damp towels in the dryer and 2 damp musty towels in the hall closet. 1 washcloth in the entire house, and we were told everything was there. The bed linen was somewhat wrinkled as if the blankets were never changed from the previos guests. Extremely embarrassed considering the circumstance of our stay. I could go on however this is rather lengthy. Nothing against VERBO but I do feel some how, someway the Host needs some accountability when homes are listed and not up to expectations. We cut our stay short.

Tripled Booked, Poor Communication, Unsafe

The start of our trip was an absolute nightmare. The very first night we were at the home, we had a group of people walk into the home. They informed me that they booked the house for the next couple of days and didn't know who we were. When we told them we booked the house for almost a month, they were just as alarmed as we were. A few hours later, we had some one else walk in the house and said they rented this unit for "x" amount of days. Thankfully, we had 7 guys with us, however, if it were my wife and family, this situation would be incredibly unsafe and uncomfortable. After several calls to the home owner and VRBO, we were able to determine this location was cohosted with someone else that hosted the home on a**bnb and they double booked the unit. The co-host was very kind and did her best to help us w/another stay near by, which, when we went there, we found a complete mess, there was feces in the toilets, no AC, the beds were messy, just an absolute nightmare. We ended up going to a hotel for the night and have yet to be compensated for the hotel, the unsafe situation, poor conditions. The hosts communications were difficult and few and far between. Never again.

House was double booked

We arrived at this property just before 4p, and saw a car in the driveway, which we figured was a cleaning crew running late. We waited until four and then went into the house using the code provided by the host. Unfortunately, we walked in on a very nice family, who was already occupying the house. Come to find out that even though we had booked the house in March 2023, they had booked it on a similar site as VRBO in October of last year. We struggled to get a hold of the host at check-in time, and after contacting a cohost, they said they may have alternate accommodations for us. All they could give us was a very small, very rundown house, in a very shady area of town. This would not work for our large group of family. We were very upset and frustrated having to on the fly pay significantly more for enough hotel rooms almost an hour away. We cannot express more to please do not stay here! Both “co-hosts” blamed the other one and we felt like our family was in the middle of their chaos. Also, the yard was in terrible shape and hadn’t been mowed or kept up. We can’t speak on the condition of the interior of this house since it was occupied by someone else. Again, DO NOT STAY HERE!

Not what I paid for

So I rented a seven bedroom home for Thanksgiving for my family and myself the host call me after four to tell me the Home that I rented was not ready for me to stay in, so she sent us to a different property which was bigger, but was not ready for a Family to stay, had no water heater we had no stove and we were going to spend Thanksgiving dinner with my siblings and family. We are from out of town so we drove to Kaline to kind of meet halfway. We did speak to her. She did send maintenance man we got there on Friday she sent maintenance man to bring a water heater so people were in and out of the home from 5 o’clock until 11 o’clock , so there was no privacy we were tired from driving we couldn’t relax we couldn’t take a bath. We had no hot water and she told us the other property will be ready the next day at two so I told her how are we going to cook our Thanksgiving if we have no oven And she even asked us since we have a truck. Can we go pick up a oven for her which I thought was a little crazy so the next day on Saturday they brought her stove which was the wrong cord so they had to leave we had people in and out of the house. They were checking on the water heater because only one person could take a bath because the water pressure to the water heater was so low while the water pressure in the house was so low that the water heater wouldn’t fill up for more people to take a bath so we didn’t have any water. They cut off the water majority of the day
