The check in clerk was not very friendly at all. You expect to be greeted with a smile instead of acting like you are bothering them by staying there.

So unfortunate that it’s not much hotel options to choose from in the area. So you’re basically obligated to choose one from the poor list. The staff were great, the room its self was disappointing. The trash cans were so dirty once we took our own trash bags out of the trash cans. The room itself looks like it hasn’t been dusted in a very long time. Hair in the sink and around coffee machine. Toilet was loose, tub peeling and dirty. Used tissue left in the closet. The pool area looked horrible. The scenery from the pool was awful. One of the elevators would get stuck, ice machine didn’t work.

Easy access to the room and close to downtown Kinston. Improvement: the floor had not been vacuumed well, and there was dust on the tv stand.

Staff was extremely polite, efficient and helpful. There was a dangerous tropical storm during my stay and the staff went out of their way to make sure guests were comfortable and had what we needed. Breakfast was excellent.

Refrigerator had 5 inches of ice build up. Refrigerator had mold at the bottom of the shelf on the door. No USB connections to charge phone. Could smell the chlorine from the pool which means it had to much chlorine. Breakfast was ok. We were there 4 nights visiting family. We will try the other hotel next time.

This facility has great potential, but it looks like they have become complacent and relying on their previous reputation which could collapse if care is not taken. Cleanliness was not taken seriously during my stay. Despite telling some of the staff about it, it was either not done or not properly done. We met visibly dirty furniture and dirty microwave when we checked in and they remained so till we checked out.

There were several large events. The hotel was “fully” booked which explains why the rate was ridiculously high. It is what it is in that regard - supply and demand … but as an honors member for over 10 years it’s unacceptable to tell me I can’t get an extra blanket due to occupancy
