  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Great family vacation home

First family/friends OBX trip

We had such a great stay. Property managers answered every question. Check in was super easy. House was clean and walking distance to the beach. Heated pool was a total plus for when we just wanted to hang. 100% would go back again.

Amazing home with room for improvement

My family & I gave this house another try this year (because of the pool) even after I expressed my issues to the REALTY very throughly about how it wasn’t clean last year, fan didn’t work, etc etc etc. Still found the home rush cleaned. (Hair in all bathroom drawers & corners that we didn’t even shower in one of the 2 bathrooms of the home, feet started to turn black on hardwood flooring, literally piles of swept debris or crumbs scattered all over as if someone took an old vacuum over it to clean up piles) I had to inspect beds to make sure they were clean and sure enough coffee spots spilt on the master king sheets, I washed the sheets and the dirty spot came out.., which would signify unclean… Upon arrival had to ask them to move an over flowing trash bin out from the CENTER of the driveway as it blocked entrance.. I asked if they could drop off a proper mop for the home. So I could mop. (Even though they asked if I wanted a cleaner to come by) Since it wasn’t mopped upon arrival. One little square section I swiffer mopped came up BLACK. We took pictures.. the pool wasn’t clean when we got there but kids didn’t care—until my 4 year old got a terrible cold the next day & the 8 year old got swimmers ear within the 4 days there. Dampened our trip. The surrounding ground of the pool/putt putt area IS DANGEROUS. There are hundreds of sand spurs in BUSHELS. I’ve never seen anything like it. My poor son ran out there to retrieve a pool ball, bloody mess! I’d write more but…….

Beautiful property and beautiful stay!

3 Weeks on the Shores is amazing! The house is very spacious and accommodating. It is exactly as described. It is in a beautiful, clean community and pretty close to beach access. It is stocked with all of the every day needs in the kitchen (dishes, silverware, utensils, pots and pans, etc.) Our family enjoyed the pool, hot tub and several gaming options in the garage and board games. The only little hiccup we experienced was ants in the “kid” bedroom. Most of them were dead, so they must be treating the problem, but there was several. Overall, it is a great home and I highly recommend!!

Great property!

We loved this property! It's an easy walk to the beach, all sorts of fun touches~ ring toss, darts, etc in the finished garage, great places to sit outside, wonderful pool and hot tub. My only disappointment is how much the rates increase in 2024 which probably will make it out of reach for me to rent again.

We stayed at the property in the off season. The weather was a bit windy and rainy but the property still offered plenty of entertainment with the pool, the nice living room, the garage with games and the great location (short walk to the beach, quiet neighborhood for walks and quick drive to Duck/Kitty Hawk). It’s not specifically set up for kids but we had no problems with our 3 month and our two year old. Would definitely recommend.

Really Cool House

The house is great. Would be perfect for 2 couples or 2 small families. Everything was exactly as represented in the listing. If your looking for a vacation to spend your days on the beach and return to the house for meals and hanging with the family this is a great property for it.

Great location

We enjoyed our stay at the house. The location was perfect and both the beach and bay were walkable and the teens (and adults) enjoyed the hot tub. Everything was just as described. Our only issue was that the cleaning crew did a poor job prior to our arrival.
