Ocean View and Arcade Room

My family and I had a great first time visitng the OBX. "Our Happy Place" was the perfect fit for our family. The top level living space had a great view of the ocean and plenty of family friendly games. The bottom level arcade room was a blast!

Quite Satisfied

We spent a week here July of '24. The property itself was lovely. It had a few nicks here and there, though. The umbrella by the pool had a broken arm and the one toilet was finnicky. We all had a great time and would certainly come back again.

Wonderful family vacation

I have to start by saying the house was perfect size for our large family and pets. Elevator was perfect for loading all heavy items in it. Game room was fun. Pool was nice. The house pretty clean on arrival. I also have to say we were very excited to be able to bbq, but the bbq was not usable it looked like it has not been cleaned in a very long time. And the tiki bar was just as gross , it was filed with trash and beach and pool toys. We were not able to use it The house definitely needs a deep clean inside and out. I would love to stay again if some of these issues were corrected.

Great house

Loved our stay at this home. It was super clean and so much room. It was close to everything we needed and super close to the beach as well. Our kids loved playing in the arcade and outside with the basketball and volleyball areas. It was a bit too chilly for us to use the pool but we did enjoy the hot tub. The beds were really comfy and our dog really liked the dog area outside, there was even dog waste baggies provided! Would definitely stay here again in the future.

Great rental, would stay here again

Great property that was clean when we arrived. The 3-floor layout was spacious for our group of 7, the arcade space was loved by the kids, and the adults appreciated the elevator for carting groceries and heavy items. The outdoor spaces were great, but watch for those sharp seed pods like another reviewer mentioned. Light on toiletries/supplies but that's mentioned several times by the rental agency, so we were prepared. We'd rent this place again.

Family and dog friendly!

We had an amazing time this past week, and "Our Happy Place" was perfect for our family. We were happy to find a home to rent that was dog friendly as well. The loved running around the seperate dog area and the neighborhood was a great place to take them on walks. The game room, volleyball, basketball, and hot tub were a hit with our kids. After exploring the island and time at the beach, it was such a relaxing place to come back to each day. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Stay

The house was very clean and everything looked neat and organized upon arrival. The size of the house and the vast amount of amenities were terrific for our group of teenagers to elderly adults. The game room was perfect for the teens, the pool was nice, tiki hut, volleyball court, basketball court, hot tub, and horseshoes. We could see the ocean from the top balcony. The management company was very responsive and actually checked in with us several times to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. We had issues with the hot tub and they managed to get it fixed by Thursday, we arrived on Sunday but didn't realize there was an issue until Tuesday. The listing says only 2 bathrooms but in fact there are 4 bathrooms. 2 showers, plus one outside with cold water, a toilet outside too which was great for the teenage boys. Wonderful yard for the dog. The neighborhood was great for walking, but it is not safe to walk to the beach because you have to cross the highway. I would say that was the only major downfall. It is also in a very busy, crowded part of the obx.

Our Happy Place, too!

Check in was seamless and everything was as described or better. Access to Wi-Fi and streaming was on point and there was an abundance of room for our relatively large family of 6 adult-sized people plus dog. The kitchen was exceptionally supplied - electric griddle, crockpots, lots of dishes, coffee maker, toaster, so many pots and pans. I felt very at home feeding my monsters in between hottub/beach fun and visiting the sites OBX offers. Several dining tables allowed for games to be paused and meals still happen. My dog was comfortable and the enclosed yard included waste bags to keep everything tidy. Don’t hesitate, this was an awesome experience. We are planning a return trip next year.

Ohio to NC!

Check in was a breeze. You get a door code and that's all you need. When we arrived, the first thing I noticed was the blind on the entrance door was ripped in half. They had it replaced with a new one in 2-3 days. The house was not super clean but it was mostly clean. The dishes in the kitchen were all dirty, so be sure to wash them before use. We left soap and sponges for the next guests. The tables were not wiped down very well but that was no big deal. The sectional upstairs was quite old and stained, possibly because it's a dog friendly house, but they do need to replace that old sectional. The other furniture in the home was up to par. The house is much larger in person. The finishes are outdated but still in good condition, so I would say the house, overall, was very nice. The TV in the living area is about 65" and they have cable in all of the rooms. Most of the TV's have netflix, hulu, etc... built in, which previous guests did not sign out of, so you may be able to use those when you visit like we did. The elevator was a "godsend" for my parents, who are both in their 60's. The outdoor space was large and full of stuff to do - pool, hot tub, tiki bar, basketball court, volleyball court, plus all of the outdoor space on the two large decks on the house. WATCH OUT for sand spurs!!! My dog got them stuck to his feet many times. My dog also got hives all over his head from a plant or insects on the property, not sure which, but $160 at the vet was an unexpected expense. There are fire ants all over outside, so be careful. Unfortunately, the pool was too cold to swim in, and the ocean was actually warmer than the pool. The beaches are very clean and beautiful! The dog area was convenient and fenced in securely. The only issue is that I seen glass on the ground back there. Broken glass by the two sheds. The house is located close to everything in Kitty Hawk. Going down to Duck and Corolla was pretty close, too, and the drive down there is a good one. If you go on the 4x4 Beach, DO NOT STOP and do not forget to lower your tire pressure. If you get stuck, tow companies charge about $400 just to pull you out of the sand, which is robbery. We had a very nice, relaxing time at the rental. The only thing that would've added to our stay is if the house was right on the beach, but it was still close and you can see the ocean from the 3rd floor. I'm giving 4 stars because there is always room for improvement.

Good value

Our family enjoyed thoughtful and useful amenities at this property... pool, volleyball, game rooms, etc. It was very thoughtfully designed to best accommodate families as well as pets. Small details were appreciated (i.e. - toddler / pet gate at the top of the stairs). There was an odor from previous guests, but that was taken care of with fresh air and some room deodorizer. Other than that there were no problems and we enjoyed our stay!

You won't want to leave

Open and airy, pool area was wonderful. The elevator was a godsend with the kitchen/living area on the 3rd floor. Quiet neighborhood. I think the dog enjoyed the house more than we did. We definitely want to come back again.

The Happiest Place

The property was great. Loved the hot tub and outside shower. Plenty of space and great for the dogs. The arcade games kept freezing and the garbage wasn’t empty from the last group but overall great stay.

We would book again!

There are so many great things about this home. Spacious living area ,Close to the beach, big pool and hot tub with outdoor tiki bar. There is an arcade room and board games Incase you need extra entertainment or happen to have a rainy day at the beach. There’s an elevator and the views from the balcony are beautiful! We are already discussing booking again for next year. We had a few small issues but the home owners and property managers were very responsive and offered to take care of things right away, thanks again !

Great big house short distance from beach

Four of us came and a dog to stay for a much needed vacation and had a great time . The house is bright and roomy with fantastic decks, pool and hot tub. Short distance from great restaurants, beach, nature trails and dunes. We would definitely rent this house again. This house can definitely accommodate a large group of people and still have plenty of space for all.
