  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Family Vacation

We had to call the property manager multiple times. First time to have cleaners return and clean missed areas. This was done promptly. The second time because of missing kitchen essentials. One small serving/mixing bowl, measuring cup and utensils which were needed for meal preparation for family. First we were told they were making a request, second call which was next day

Good and quiet location

My family of three stayed at the house for one week. We enjoyed its location, walking distance to the beach, quiet neighborhood, friendly neighbors. The communication was good and the check in/out process easy, the amenities were satisfactory for a family stay at the beach. It rained quite a lot that week but because the house was close to the beach, we were able to go in and out quickly as needed.

Great place in quiet neighborhood

The house sits right on top of the hill in the neighborhood so you have ocean views from the the deck as well as the living room and kitchen. Place had new floors out in since the pictures were taken. It is more than enough space for a family of 4 possibly even 5, especially with the out door areas. Beach access is about a minute walk which is great for bringing all of your beach gear etc. quick enough to come back for lunch. Slightly north of the town of duck (1 mile maybe 1.5) but that makes the beaches much less crowded. Absolutely loved the stay.

The outdoor shower, hose, air conditioning, washer/dryer, and parking in the shade under the house were really fabulous. The deck was relatively new and beautiful! We had no issues with excessive spiders mentioned in other reviews. Our family of 5 was so comfortable for the week and are already dreaming of our next trip to Duck💗

Not too bad but Not too clean

Nice property for the money. Not terribly clean. The tubs/showers in particular look like they hadn’t been cleaned well in a long time.

Nice but needs updating

Spiders were bad, my husband had to spray and sweep the carport and the deck, it would have been nice if the cleaning crew did that before we arrived. We were there for vacation not to work. There was a piece of trim on the floor by the kitchen table that was completely loose. There was a rung from one of the chairs broke off. Floors under the beds and couch were not swept. I found candy wrappers and a pencil under a bed. We liked the location ,easy walk to the beach. We would prob stay there again but not next year.
