Klaksvík is beautifully situated between mountains and the sea and is an excellent base for discovering some of the Faroe Islands’ most spectacular scenery. From here, you can easily explore the surrounding islands, villages, hiking routes and coastal landscapes.

Whether you are visiting for a few days or using Klaksvík as your base for a longer stay, the apartment offers a comfortable and peaceful place to return to.



The Space:

The apartment is designed as a comfortable home rather than simply a place to sleep. It has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with plenty of natural light and views towards the surrounding Faroese landscape.

Please note that the property is located in a building with multiple separate units. We therefore ask guests to respect the other residents and use only the entrance and apartment belonging to their reservation.



Guest Access:

Guests have private access to the entire apartment during their stay.

The property is located in a large white house at Kommunubrekka 8. As the building contains multiple units, it is important to enter through the correct entrance.

When you arrive, look for the black staircase on the left-hand side of the house. Walk all the way up the stairs. At the top, you will find two doors.

Your apartment is Door No. 2 — the door furthest away from the stairs.

You do not need to meet a host in person. The apartment has self check-in, allowing you to arrive at a time that suits your travel plans.



The Neighborhood:

Klaksvík is one of the most distinctive towns in the Faroe Islands. Located in the north-east of the country and surrounded by dramatic mountains, the town has a very different atmosphere from Tórshavn.

The apartment is situated in a residential part of Klaksvík, giving you the opportunity to experience the town as more than just a visitor passing through.

Klaksvík is surrounded by some of the Faroe Islands’ most spectacular landscapes. Mountains rise directly around the town, while the sea and harbour are an important part of everyday life.

The town has cafés, restaurants, shops, supermarkets and other everyday amenities, so you can easily find what you need during your stay.

Klaksvík is also an excellent starting point for exploring the northern islands. The town has a strong connection to the sea and is the gateway to Kalsoy, famous for its dramatic landscapes and the iconic hike to the Kópakonan monument.

The surrounding area offers countless opportunities for hiking, photography, sightseeing and simply enjoying the scenery. Weather conditions can change quickly in the Faroe Islands, which means the landscape can look completely different from one hour to the next.



Getting Around:

By car

A car is highly recommended if you want to explore the Faroe Islands. Klaksvík is well connected to the rest of the country through the Faroese road network, making it a convenient base for exploring the northern and central islands.

From Klaksvík, you can easily drive towards other parts of Eysturoy and Streymoy, while the surrounding villages and mountain roads provide plenty of opportunities to stop and explore along the way.

There are also parking options in the surrounding area of the property. Please make sure that you do not block entrances, driveways or access for other residents.

Public transport

Klaksvík is also connected by public transport, including buses to other parts of the Faroe Islands. This makes it possible to stay here without a car, although having your own vehicle gives you considerably more flexibility, particularly if you want to explore remote villages and hiking areas.

Ferry to Kalsoy

One of the highlights of staying in Klaksvík is the access to Kalsoy. The ferry to Kalsoy departs from Klaksvík, making the town a particularly convenient base for guests planning to visit the island.

For ferry trips and public transport, we recommend checking the current timetable before travelling, as schedules can change depending on the season and weather conditions.

Walking around Klaksvík

Many everyday destinations in Klaksvík can be reached on foot, although the town is hilly in places. Comfortable footwear is recommended, especially if you plan to combine your stay with hiking or exploring the surrounding areas.

Check-in is from 4:00 PM, and check-out is by 10:00 AM. Please respect the house rules and take out trash before departure.
