This hotel is a true hidden gem in Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur. It has an absolutely lovely lounge area on the 2nd floor, with a microwave, dishes, and hot water available. There is also a rooftop terrace on the 5th floor where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Kuala Lumpur. There are plenty of cool things to do within a 10-minute walk, and if you’re in the mood to socialize, there are also lots of backpackers around. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I don’t usually write such glowing reviews, but this place is genuinely cool. I can’t recommend it enough.

The Traveler’s Ark was excellent. It is above the Petaling Market in Chinatown and the n the center of everything. Great views from the roof deck. We enjoyed the lounge/ coffee bar. Staff is very helpful and friendly. They make a great latte. Lounge is filled with a range of characters— many who appear to be digital nomads. The room was simple but nice. We had a private bath and our own gecko near the coffee service :). The only little complaint is that it would be nice to have a soap dispenser next to the sink so that one doesn’t have to go into the shower every time you wash your hands. A great choice for KL.

Good vibe at common area for solo traveler and backpacker, clean environment, friendly and helpful staff. Most important it located at the strategic location which surrounding with good foodie and tourist spot, it very near to public transport hub as well. Thumbs up!

We were not given the room we expected. The pictures show a window and it was advertised on hotels.com as having black out curtains which also suggests a window. There was no window. There was a very musty smell in there.The room itself was clean but the bathroom was very small and there was no water in the tap unless you ran the shower so we had to fill the kettle from the shower. The aircon worked to start with but then it poured water down the wall and onto the floor. We had to turn it off during night or it flooded everywhere. No one asked if we wanted cleaning or more towels durung the stay. There were some guests during our stay who screamed and shouted in the corridors and slammed doors constantly. This went on for hours at 2.00 am. This is not the fault of the hotel but it didn't help that there are no staff at night to ask for help. The communal area was quite nice with the terrace to sit on and the location is very good but our experience of the room itself was awful. When we checjed out U toldvthe staff on reception about the aircon and there was not even an apology. the kettle from the shower.

Overall, I had a good stay at this accommodation. It is centrally located in Chinatown, right next to a very lively street where a market takes place. As a result, the area is busy from early in the morning until quite late at night. However, I requested a quiet room and was given one, which I really appreciated. The room itself was quite basic and sparsely furnished, with only a relatively small window. The interior felt rather cold and lacked a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. The bathroom was also quite small, and the door couldn’t be closed properly. Whenever I took a shower, the bathroom floor would get completely wet. I also found the bed rather hard and uncomfortable. Overall, the room was functional but not particularly comfortable. On the positive side, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The common areas were modern, stylish and nicely designed, creating a much more welcoming atmosphere than the room itself. Everything was also very clean, which I appreciated. Considering the price, I think this accommodation offers good value for money. If you’re travelling on a budget and don’t mind sacrificing a bit of comfort, it’s definitely a good place to stay. However, if you prefer a more comfortable and cosy room, I think there are probably better options available. I’m not entirely sure whether I would stay here again or try somewhere else next time. Nevertheless, it’s certainly not a bad accommodation, and I can understand why it receives such positive reviews.
