Sinceramente no es un hotel de 5 estrellas como dicen para empezar la piscina pertenece a otro hotel y tienes que cruzar un pasadizo cojer el ascensor del otro hotel y llegar a la piscina , una odisea por lo que para mí es una publicidad engañosa el decir que tiene piscina . Lo segundo esq las habitaciones las hacen muy muy tarde , nosotros salíamos muy pronto del hotel para hacer las excursiones y los dos días al llegar a las tres de la tarde la habitación estaba sin hacer , eso no es normal Es un poco anticuado pero bien situado eso sí , habitación grande y botellas de agua de cortesía pero que actualmente hay mejores opciones por la zona

The whole hotel is in bad shape. The room smells of a lot of humidity, and the toilet was leaking all day long. The so-called gym (one of the reasons why I've chosen this hotel) only offers a couple of treadmills and some rusty dumbbells. The swimming pool was clean, but the staff at the swimming pool was not helpful or welcoming enough. I didn't know where to get the towels, or if I could order food from the swimming pool and charge it to my room. There were 2 staff there, but only checking their phones. The receptionist can be more welcoming. In any other hotel, you get information about the breakfast location and time, but in here, they just direct you to your room. The electricity in my room went down on my last night (no electricity at all), and after 30 minutes waiting, the receptionist, with a very annoyed face, sent me to a different room. I had to pack all my stuff in the dark to move to a new room, which was in worse shape than my original room. The new room I've got allocated was full of moisture, the toilet was also leaking, and the carpet was humid. Breakfast: fair enough. The staff was helpful, but the manager was angry all the time. Location is great, I would say this is the only pro. Conclusion: I would never stay here, as the price is just USD$10 cheaper than the Pullman or Hilton, which will definitely offer you a better stay.

The condition of the rooms was very substandard, they were not cleaned or serviced well at all. First room I tried had no towels, no soap, not bottled water, no coffee and dirty glasses. If it was not for the nice staff it would get a ZERO rating. Would I stay again, highly unlikely unless the city was booked out. Very disappointing stay. It was probably nice 30 years ago, but not today, would suggest it has never been maintained since it was built.

It's a Dump!

The place is worn down. Smells old even. No hand towels provided, breakfast buffet options were gross, sink had mould round the drain hole, room-service tray which we left outside the room was not cleared till 2 1/2 days later (Housekeeping said they would inform the restaurant when we called). Its saving grace was the pleasant and helpful staff around the hotel.

Less than average experience

There wasn’t bath towels, shampoo and bath gel in the toilet when i got into the room. They were sent after 30-45 minutes after I informed the front desk. The toilet bowl and toilet seat has stains. The bath towels were yellow-ish instead of white. Last but not least, out of 3 elevators only 2 were working during our stay.

Pleasant but….

The pillow case and bedsheet were not clean. Some black stains. The flushing in the toilet needs to press a second time before it stops. The lights in the room are blinking. They should be changed. The toilet’s tiles are in need of a good scrub! The staff are pleasant though. Overall the location is good, the facilities are in need of an upgrade.

The services in general is rather slow and required repeating/re-asking the for the services (asking for towels to be sent to the room- room only had one bath towel for a two person reservation; had to call again for porter services after waiting close to 20 mins). Location is strategic but the property and services were mediocre.

Horror

The hotel chamber maids are lazy. During our five days stay they only came to make the bed and replenished water. The room was never sweep or vacuumed, the bathroom never tidied and cleaned. When we called the reception and requested for room cleaning, the cleaners never appear. Sometimes they just left the bath towels or toilet papers outside the room door. The whole corridor stings. The car park under the hotel showed signs of sewage lickage. It is one hotel I won’t stay again and will warm traveller’s about it.

Had a very unpleasant stay at Astana Riverside. Check in was very bad because the hotel wanted us to pay the rate which was much higher than what we booked on Expedia. I have been an Expedia member for a long time and this was a first ever when a hotel wanted to charge differently than the rate that was booked. After speaking to the manager this was resolved but it took a long time for check in to be processed. The room was very disappointing too. Broken chair and no towels when we got there. Had to wait 1 hour after calling several times to get the bath towels delivered. Really not worth it, absolutely terrible hotel for the price we paid (RM 950 for 2 nights).

Comfortable Stay in Kuching

Upon arrival we were upgraded to an Astana suite room which was a very pleasant surprise. The room which included a separate kitchen / sitting/ dining room was well equipped and the beds were extremely comfortable. For dinner we decided to try the fine dining at Suasana on the 18th floor. What a disappointment that was. After waiting over an hour for the food it was just lukewarm. In defence of the chef, it was tasty but it had clearly been waiting some time for someone to deliver it to the table.
