The hotel is very nice with an amazing view to the volcano. You can stare at this magical mountain while zipping a cocktail from one of the two jacuzzis. The common area is well designed and it has two pools: one for adults and one for children. It tends to get crowded but there are plenty tables where you and your party can find a spot for yourselves. There are pool table and other game that you can enjoy with your family or friends. In general, the installations are very well kept. Breakfast is very good although some hot meals were not that hot but mainly because guests leave the lid open when they are serving themselves. The room was nice. We had a problem with our tv but they fixed it promptly. We had a noisy group of girls next of us, but it’s not the hotel’s fault. But if you are a light sleeper and you get noisy neighbors that could be an issue. There are several restaurants within walking distance. The staff was nice and provided lots of info about tours. We took a taxi from La Fortuna downtown to the hotel and it was about $3. On the way back the taxi driver charged double saying that he made an empty trip to come and pick us. It seem to be a common practice in the area although I don’t think it’s legal. Once again not the hotel’s fault but just be aware of this issue. Over all I enjoyed and recommend this hotel.
