Overcharged...they did not accept the booking rate stated on my reservation! They said that I had to pay Expedia at time of booking! Never before have I had to do that. Looks like a book and switch scam!!!

Jacquiline,Hello, you did not ask for a bottom floor. We asked you if you were okay with a top unit and you said you were fine with this. So, if you had issues with a top unit, you just simply had to just let us know. If you use the unit, we cannot make changes. We had units available to accommodate you downstairs if you would have said you needed one. The place is not noisy if you close your door. If you leave windows and doors fully opened, yes you can get noise just like anywhere else. Our doors have soundproofing on them when closed. I recommend getting all of your questions answered before checking into a hotel in the future, with the front desk. Also, please notify the front desk if you have questions or concerns prior to using anything in your room. We hope this helps you out so you have a better stay. This was a simple issue to fix. Thank you!

I selected the more expensive "pet friendly suite" vs other room options when booking with Expedia at the Red Lion Inn in La Pine, OR. It showed as available. But when checking in it was unavailable. The front desk agent offered a room where I could pay an additional $100 per dog (if under 10lbs)! What are they, the Ritz? I left with the agent saying I had to pay a penalty for cancelling. Uhm, no? You didn't have the room I reserved, that's on you. She continues to say I didn't understand and that likely the upcoming month they wouldn't accept pets at all anymore. Here I thought Red Lions were pet friendly. But also, don't make the pet friendly suite as available on hotel sites, when they aren't. I had to book alternative accommodations. Expedia came through and had the penalty waived.

Pietje,Hello, first of all you did not book a 'pet-friendly' unit at the hotel. You did not disclose in advance that you were bringing 2 pets into the unit, without letting the office know. We do charge for each pet in our hotel and that is listed in our policies at the front desk and online. So, you have enough information before booking the unit. Instead, you proceeded to scream at the office and staff and declare that you will not pay for your animals and your animals can go into every room! This is not okay.We do respect people that have pet allergies and keep those rooms strictly for no pets, and we also have a limited number of rooms where we allow pets to accommodate our pet travelers which are our 'pet-friendly' units. The fee for the pet unit is not less because many people do not take care of the unit and our staff has to do an extensive deep cleaning which in many cases is above and beyond. So, the pet fee will continue to stay for those units. So, our suggestion to you is to please check with the front desk and observe the hotel policy before you arrive so there are no surprises.

Felt it was deceiving. Paid for the pet friendly room then once we checked in they added another $100 per night for a pet. We have family in the area so we took our dog there to save. When I informed the desk she said, “it’ll be $150 charge if we sneak our dog in.. “How rude”! As if. We actually are hospitality business owners and we’re very offended. At checkout the same person was rude, not a thank you or how was your stay.. nothing.

Anna,Hello, I'm sorry that you misunderstood. What you actually did was pay for your room rental and when you arrived, we then charged you the pet policy pricing. So, you were not charged additional fees. Sometimes people choose pet friendly rooms and then do not bring their pet, so we like to charge for the pet when you arrive. Yes, we do have allergy friendly rooms and we try to accommodate pets and people without pets who have allergies. Nobody was rude to you, we were very kind to you. You just did not observe the pet policy and were upset with the room rate. Then, you tried to bring two pets into one room and we charge for each pet, separately.It is also true if you do try to sneak in a pet without letting the office know we do charge a fine and it is quite a bit. If you do get confused, we suggest you call the office before you travel so you understand the rates and policies and nothing is a surprise to you. Thank you.

We do charge for rooms that have pets because it takes our housekeepers much longer to ready the room for another guest. I'm sorry you were unhappy with the price. Thank you.

The LaPine Red Lion was a good value. I wanted a basic hotel that was clean and hassle free. They delivered. I'd definitely stay there again

Art,Hello, thank you for your review, it means a lot. I know we are in snow country during the winter. Just this October, we had temps in the 80's! Anyway, great spot for winter activities like snow mobiling, skiing at Mt. Bachelor, snow shoeing, and cross country. Its a hit or miss, we are experiencing some arctic air and it gets chilly when that happens. Otherwise, you can get lucky and we get some nice warm weather in the upper 50's-lower 60's some winter days. Those are some brand new heaters and we love them, too. They did not have our reservation when w arrived. We had to ask for another wash cloth and hand towel since there was only 1 of each in the room. The breakfast they offered consisted of yogurt.

George,Hello, thank you for your feedback. If you book your reservation outside the door and then come in, it does take a moment before we see it on our end. If your room did not have the necessary linen, the individual gladly provided you with what you were missing or wanted extra of. You are supposed to have complete towels in your room and while we strive for perfection our staff is only human. Our breakfast does not consist of just yogurt. We do have a grab and go breakfast for covid safety. We do include in the grab bags quite a few options for you to enjoy and take with you. There are often more than 5 items in there and are often include, fruit, yogurt, granola bar, pastry, cookies, string cheese, juice, and are often changing with new pastry items. Then we also have coffee and doughnuts in the lobby. Breakfast is 6:30-9am. Our front desk manager did give you a grab and go bag with over 5 items. Thank you. Have a great day!

Linda, Hello, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you did not enjoy the new posturepedic, pillowtop beds. We usually get people to ask us where to buy them. We are sorry they did not suit you as beds are a personal preference. If something was not right, we could have treated the area for you or moved you to another unit, you just had to have notified our front desk. We will, and regularly do, carpet clean/wash and/or power blow and vacuum on our exterior corridors and carpeting. Our building does allow for fresh air to enter into the units which is appreciated by many (especially during the covid era) provided guests use their window screens and keep doors closed. We ask that trash or sticky food items or empty soda cans be disposed of and not left outside the doorways. We take your feedback seriously but request that you let the front desk know, immediately, so we can address your needs right away!

Do not stay here!!
Customer service was awful. Rude at check-in and in the morning the woman burst into my room before I had checked out. The shower was clean but otherwise didn't seem very clean. I had to get my own toilet paper from the car because a previous guest had gotten poo on the roll and it hadn't been replaced. It was very noisy and uninviting. The price is about twice what this slum motel should be and I'm very upset about the $100 deposit. I don't know when I'm going to get that money back and she didn't tell me about it until it had already been charged. I will not stay here again, I would rather sleep in my car.

sorry for the incident, we called at your room and there was no answer and knocked at your door, did not get any answer. so house keeper opened the door slightly and she said to female lady sorry and close the door. House keeper inform the incident to front desk. Front desk clerk apologize the guest lady before she mentioned any thing. we did not want to complain any thing but you have used all white towels for wiping the pizza. your accusation seems pretty wrong, any person will not stay if the toilet paper was that way but u stayed up till 11.30.next day. we did not said any thing, you smoked in the non smoking establishment. Still your deposit went back to you 11.15. We are very puzzle for your complain. you are our guest our policy to make you happy. we will retrain our house keeper . manager

Hotel was sketchy. Sheets were dirty, no coffee maker in room, the bath tub was painted with some sort of grey stuff that was dripped all over the floor and the sides and walls of the tub. They are not service animal compliant. Charged my daughter an extra $200 dollars because her SERVICE dog went into the room while they were loading the car. She has her service animal for driving due to severe anxiety in adverse weather conditions

Where's my money?
I have been waiting over a week for an unauthorized charge of an additional $50 the be refunded that the front desk lady said would be back on my card by 10am. The rooms are large but barely average and the Best Western is way nicer and was less expensive and way nicer.

you have to check with your bank. We return deposit after you check out. This is on your bank how long they take. Hotel never keeps any ones deposit until some kind of damages done in the room by the guest. manager

Stains on the sheets(blood or fecal matter), fridge is unplugged so not cold. Not enough towels, pillows are absolutely terrible, the tv was 20-30 years old, the room had the worst smell ever, and the bath tub was so filthy I didn’t even take a shower. I never leave reviews but this place is a complete dump and the worst place I’ve ever stayed. For $140, it certainly was price gouging.

sorry you felt that way. we have new wood floor in the room and flat TV. I hope you have mix up with other hotel. Right now we are renovating every thing in the hotel. On your next trip we will be having everything brand new. our renovation is every 7-8 year. we change every thing in 7-8 year. manager

Extraordinarily loud room HVAC unit was annoying, it was hard to carry on a conversation with it on. We normally sleep with fans on but someone who is sensitive to noise will have a hard time. Room was clean but felt "tired" and dated.

Pillows are exceptionally horrible. No coffee in the rooms and reception area coffee is often closed or limited. Air conditioner had missing knobs to regulate. Lost my bracelet in the room, and it wasn’t recovered after calling and inquiring about it.

I had made it for pet friendly, and we called to make sure that it was. My daughter got there they had only 2 rooms pet friendly and they were already use. So didnt stay had to go to bend and get more expensive room. I better not be charged.!!!!#:#

Awful hotel with the worst customer service!
We had the worst experience! I want a refund! The lady at the front desk wouldn’t let us check in until 4pm saying they were behind and we came back after 4pm. We were there for a couple hours when she called our room saying she had no idea we had our children with us and needed to change us extra! When I refused because we had late check in and our records say 2 adults and 2 children clearly, she screamed at me to leave and hung up the phone! I went to the office to speak with her she was so awful to me and kept screaming at me to get out and leave! I said fine I would like a refund and she said I would get 0 back! After her screaming and yelling that she wouldn’t give us anything she locked herself in the office so I couldn’t speak to her! I had to call the local police and when they arrived he told me they have been called because of her doing this to other people! She tried to tell the officers that I threatened her! We left and couldn’t get any other room for the night and had to sleep in our car! I also tried contacting you at hotels.com and never got a call back! I am truly disappointed in this company and this hotel and advise people to not use! Please just give us a refund. I have never had customer service this bad in my life!

The room was smoking hot and had to sit outside while the VERY loud old air conditioner tried to cool it off. Had to run it all night so didn’t sleep very good because of the noise.

Our family went there for a funeral and the owner charged each kid $15 each more a day and we had three kids We normally hotel kids are free and also we had an aunt that came in for one day and because there was no other hotels the owner took advantage of them and charge them $230 for one night when the room was worth $40 a night awful awful owners I recommend nobody stays there ever

we did not charge any extra, that is written on expedia very clearly about the charges of the kids. All the rates are written very clearly. Hotel does not make the things on spot. Every thing is black and white. we do not want you to be upset. we try our best to make our guest very happy. if you are not happy ,we will do our best next time. sorry. manager

The Manager at the site did not acknowledge that we booked our stay with our pet dog and we were sent away without being able to stay there. told us that she would not refund our money because we booked through expedia. I was livid and she was completely rude and dismissive at the start. We ended up driving home all night to Central California

A nice place to stay!
The Timbercrest is a very nice place to stay! I arrived early. They checked me into a clean room. They have made many upgrades since I was last here. They continue to improve. This is a great place for a rest. I highly recommend it!

pillows had stains no coffee pot, fridge unplugged, car would idle at night outside for 30 min. or so at least 3 times through the night. At check in a 30 dollar additional fee was charged for my dog was not expressed on login with expedia and a 50 dollar deposit was also not. Toilet paper ran out after the quarter roll was used up with no spare roll available. will never stay there again.

sorry you felt that way, we do charge for the dog which is written very clearly in expedia. For coffee we have to follow some rules for the covid. we are non smoking establishment, to keep that way we take refundable deposit. But we are very sorry that you were unhappy, we will try our best to make you happy if you give us chance. we love to see you back. thanks manager
