“I stayed here for a couple days for a work assignment. Overall the stay was great, as others have said, the cottage has some uneven floors and the bathroom is tiny, but it did what it needed to. Very comfortable bed and offstreet parking was the key for me.”

“It was very spacious and peaceful. They supplied us with eggs from their free range chickens which was nice for breakfast. We had a party of 7 with 4 adults and 3 children and we all slept well there. It's also nice having two bathrooms with showers. ”

“Had a great time! My wife and I took three of our grandkids to visit the Ape Cave, and Mt St Helens, which are both about an hour to 1.5 away. The house was great. Very comfy, and stocked with everything we needed. Castle Rock is a short 10-15 min drive, and Kelso not much further if you need a mall or movie theater. It is right on the lake, with it’s own private dock. There is a 15’ canoe for your enjoyment as well. ”

“The house is large and spacious. Very well decorated. Be aware there is not a door to the very large master bathroom so you can see someone sitting on the toilet from the king bed! — a bit weird for a house that was recently remodeled and the owners clearly spent a lot of money to do so. Other than that, a great house in a gorgeous setting.”

“Very clean property and well maintained. Beds were comfortable, however two of the four bed are on the floor without bed frames which was a surprise. Since some of us were on the senior side of time, we had to decide who was best able to get off the floor. Do bring your own shampoo, soap etc. as they are not provided. Photos do not do the home justice, it's more beautiful than the photos. Excellent, quiet neighborhood but parking is a bit crowded if you have more than two vehicles.”

“This residence is very roomy and exceptionally clean. Very well stocked with linens, coffee, snacks, paper goods, etc. All written communication was very easy to understand and accurate. You can not go wrong to visit this home.”

“Our home was a great mid point for all the tourist things we wanted to do with easy access on and off interstate 5. Kalama has interesting spots to take in and the drive to Multnomah Falls and Mount St. Helen’s was easy. The host was easy to communicate with and we loved our stay there. Definitely would rent there again.”

Then we daytripped to Portland to hike. We drove up towards the mountains for breathtaking views of Mt Ranier and Mt St Helens. Then we would come back and cuddle up by the fireplace. Kara's home feels just like that - home. We would love to go back there next winter, or even during the summer to enjoy the lake....

“Great little home that was the perfect location for my small group to make a trip into Portland one day, live music at the local McMenamins, walk the river front and relax for an afternoon of movies and puzzles. Enjoyed the open kitchen and large dining table.”
