  • 1 bedroom cabin located on the lakefront in Lake Hawea. The cabin is set back behind trees and very sheltered from the wind with a deck/ garden. Please note the Lakeview photos are from the domain in front of the property. Scott's Beach is a short 5 minute walk East and or for the nimble you can access the lake by going directly down the bank. The local store/cafe/restaurant and Lake Hawea Hotel are 2 mins walk away.

Not truly lakefront but a very short walk. Comfortable and cosy, everything worked, nice touches (tea station, fresh flowers) and the area is STUNNING

Small basic and clean accommodation for a short stay. Would recommend but not directly on the lake as shown in property listing…can get a glimpse from outdoor deck but access to a beautiful walking path just a few steps away.

Peaceful retreat at Lake Hawea.

We enjoyed our stay in this delightful little cottage. It is situated in a private and peaceful setting. The lake and walking tracks are just a few minutes walk away.

Beautiful little cottage

We were here for a wedding such a beautiful little spot. Views of the lake, cozy little cottage with Tim tams on arrival such a nice gesture. If you looking for seclusion quiet and close to all amenities this is your place❤️

Cabin just as listed. Comfortable bed, clean and situated close to lake, cafe and hotel. Lovely and quiet location. Great helpful owner Perfect for our needs

First impressions as we parked beside their house was of disorder and we became abit unsure as to what we had booked.The unit was cold but neat and tidy.It could have benefited from a floor rug over the cold flooring., and a proper door mat at the entrance rather than a bath mat.A set of steps on to the decking as well would be a good investment.

Great Place

Really loved our time here! Quiet and peaceful and a great location for the lake. A 40 foot walk takes you to a glorious view of the lake. Perfect for an afternoon happy hour. It was cozy and comfortable. Thank you!!

The communication with the hosts worked just fine, and I could easily check in after 4 pm. I was greeted with some self picked flowers in the cottage which was a very lovely gesture. There was even some milk in the fridge.The cottage was very clean and had everything that's necessary. Heaps of tea, lots of kitchen equipment and such a cozy bed! The cottage even has its own little access towards the lake.The hosts respect your privacy but it's easy to communicate via text message or phone call. I will definitely come again and can highly recommend to anyone who wants lots of quiet and peace in a beautiful area.

What a fabulous property! Lake front, safe, next to a fantastic walking path, close to shopping, tucked in perfectly (privacy) so it feels like you are off the beaten path and away from the hustle of town. Excellent communication from the friendly and welcoming owner. This was my favorite spot we stayed in while in NZ. Highly recommend.

Views of lake

All basic amenities provided. Good heating. Warm shower. Views of the lake from the deck. Easy access to the pub for dinner. Easily accessible from provided parking. We had a lovely, albeit short stay

Ideal for overnight stay

Location ideal .would be a great spot in the summer. Clean and comfortable would have liked mat on floor. Floors cold in winter.

Lake Front Cabin

Sweet little cabin on the lake front about 5 walk to nice beach with great views over the lake. Great location close to the general store and about a 2 minute drive to the local boat ramp. The cabin has a nice little Terrace which has great sun mid afternoon in the summer. We staying 1 night and the accommodation was perfect for our needs.. Kaz was great with quick responses and all the information we need to make the check in process easy. She was also very accommodating to a few extra needs that we had.

Our hosts unique approach to welcoming guests was a surprise. Being told you have failed to follow instructions by someone you have never met was not expected. Accomo itself was soulless and overpriced.

A little less ideas than we thought

This property was very clean and absolutely no communication problems or issues with the hosts. However, the bathroom was a tiny space with a sliding glass door - not very private. Also, the view isn't all it seems in the pictures. Granted, we were there in the rain, but the view it shows in the picture was unavailable to us. I'm not sure if the landscaping grew in or because of the fogginess we couldn't see, but the cabin was farther from the water than we thought it would be.

Photos misrepresent cottage in owners garden

The cottage was very clean and nicely decorated however it had no television or radio no puzzles or DVDs or books. Property was at the end of the owner’s garden. Lack of privacy and kids play equipment straight out the window. The cottage was freezing cold in evening and morning and stifling in the afternoon. No way to pass time or cook the simplest meal. Sitting on deck you could hear everyone in house’s surrounding property and people out front above lake. Not for us sorry.

Such a lovely and secluded little granny flat on property with great and easy access to lake front track and beach just around the corner! Lovely quiet and sheltered spot while being right in the heart of the town and easy to walk anywhere needed with shops right nearby! Clean and tidy space, could easily stay for longer!
