  • Spectacular views from most rooms. Kayaking, swimming, fishing, and crabbing on the river; play horseshoes, cornhole, volleyball on the premises; take peaceful walks or ride bikes (supplied with helmets); explore local waterfront restaurants, charming country stores, and local entertainment; BBQs on the patio; explore local yacht clubs. House TVs in all bedrooms & living room; fully stocked kitchen; washer/dryer; mother-in-law suite for extra privacy; beautiful grounds & sunrises.

    The Yankee Point Marina is a 10 minute walk offering sunfish, paddleboard, and deck boat rentals, a saltwater pool, poolside café, and boat launch/ramp. By boat, reach the Chesapeake Bay in 10 minutes with restaurants on the water.

    The Tides Inn Restaurant, located in Weems VA (5 miles) or The Oaks Restaurant (try the ribeye), in Lively VA (6 miles) are great for dining and celebrations. Enjoy a boat cruise that leaves from Reedsville, VA (20 miles) that goes to Smith Island or Tangier Island. Experience group adventure and fun including movie theatre, arcade, indoor adventure course, climbing walls, go-carts, miniature golf, and restaurant at the Compass Entertainment Complex in Irvington VA (20 miles).

    In nearby Lively VA, reconnect with nature at Belle Isle State Park with 892 acres and 7 miles of shoreline along the Rappahannock River to explore; reconnect with the colonial period at the historic 1669 St. Mary’s Whitechapel; visit the world famous Corner diner serving the county’s coldest beer with patio seating.

    Take Merry Point Ferry (5 min drive) to cross the western branch of the Corrotoman River to enjoy more restaurants and attractions in Kilmarnock, Whitestone and Irvington towns.

Our grandchildren enjoyed fishing, crabbing and seeing their first fireflies. A rising strawberry moon over the Rappahannock was magical. Thank you, Chris, for a wonderful river stay.

A wonderful stay for our family! The house accommodated our group of 14( eight adults and six children) very well! The waterfront location was great for fishing, crabbing, kayaking and jumping off the dock!

Great spacious place

Great house. Lots of fun and nice neighborhood. Easy access to water, kayaks and just amazing place. Coming here second year in a row.

Great large family home

This home is excellent if you have a large family. It's has plenty of sleeping spaces & a large kitchen. Our extended family of 10 adults & 6 grandkids enjoyed our Christmas get-together here.

House was very spacious and the water views were fabulous! The kitchen had everything we needed to fix our own meals. We enjoyed fishing from the dock and watching ospreys! The master bedroom and bath were huge and comfortable. Outdoor furniture and gas grill were a plus. Be sure to bring most of what you need since a big grocery store is several miles away. Suggest buying fresh seafood from J & W Seafood in Deltaville, VA if you are coming through there. Soft shell crabs, shrimp, and scallops were fresh! Ellen's Country Store is the closest small store to get ready made salad, desserts, ice, and pick up bread or milk. Very friendly and the food was great! Everyone in our group had a great time!!

Great stay at a wonderful home!

We spent Memorial Day Weekend on this property. The property is in a beautiful location and we had success fishing directly from the pier. The owner was super responsive to questions. I've already recommended the home to two of our friends.

Great home for a family gathering

Our family stayed here for a long weekend and we had a great time! The house was well stocked with everything. We enjoyed the volleyball set and bikes. We rented a boat from the nearby Yankee Point Marina, and had a great time on the water. The house was beautiful and perfect for a large family.

This was our second stay. Love the roominess atmosphere and decorations. Also love the location with close boat rentals and a dock on the property. Had great fishing last year but not so much this year, but that's fishing.

Reminisce the past

We use to have a place in the Northern Neck when our kids were young (they are in their 30’s now). It was nice to be with family in a familiar place. We were there to have a celebration of life, and Reverend John from Corrotowman Baptist Church made the celebration perfect. The location and house are beautiful.

Thanksgiving holiday stay

This is a beautiful property and a beautiful home. There were some HVAC issues but the property owner was very responsive. We would definitely return for another visit.

Très belle maison avec une vue magnifique !

Avons passé une agréable séjour dans cette maison. Le seul bémol : loin de tout, des commerces et des lieux à visiter. Nous ne somme pas habitué (nous venons de France) à faire de nombreux kms pour nous rendre dans les lieux touristiques !

50th wedding anniversary trip

What a beautiful property! We stayed here as a gift to my in-laws for their 50th wedding anniversary. My mother in law said it was her favorite vacation. The view over the river was gorgeous, especially at sunrise and sunset. We did so much fishing and had beautiful weather. The house was huge and we were able to spread out, but yet come together to share meals, play games and spend time together.

Memory day weekend with family

The house was beautiful just like a magazine, we had a great time with didn't enjoyed the river because of weather is was raining and windy therefore we spend 3 days just eating and enjoying ourselves!!!

Review of stay

Overall a very nice place. The HVAC system needs to be inspected because it was very difficult maintaining comfortable temps, especially upstairs. Aside from that, very nice.

Great Place for a Family

Overall this was a very pleasant stay and experience. The best part was the very responsive and helpful host. The house was pleasant and had enough beds although I do recommend paying attention to the fact that the double bed room requires walking through someone else’s bedroom which was somewhat awkward for all adults. Would be ideal for a family with kids! Location is very remote but perfect if you’re planning on staying at the house/pool/river. Wonderfully quiet and away from crowds. A bit of a drive to any stores.

As advertised

The host Jeffrey Wood was accommodating and responded quickly to any and all queries. The property is as nice as the pictures with plenty of space for 6 adults and 2 teenagers. Enjoyed the dock and kayaking on the river, managed to capture half a dozen crabs from the traps, and fishing poles were available to use as well. House was comfortable and overall everyone enjoyed!

An Awesome House

My family and I spent a beautiful July 4th holiday in this lovely home. We are a family of 14 that included 6 kids and it accommodated all of us perfectly. It was not only decorated beautifully but it was very spacious, immaculate, and had well equipped kitchens. The water view was stunning and the yard allowed us to do many fun activities. The host was immediately responsive to our questions. We truly loved this home and plan on returning in the near future!

Amazing and spacious place!

My wife and I spent a 4 day weekend here with 3 other couples. There was plenty of space for us with room for more. The house and grounds are beautiful and well kept. It was more stocked with towels, kitchen utensils, trash bags, etc. than most places that we've rented. Jeffrey the host was responsive and pleasant. Highly recommend it!

Family Reunion

We had 5 households gather including grandparents and 3 kids. The house was plenty big enough. Kitchen was spacious and well equipped. Excellent gathering options inside and out. We spent our mornings drinking coffee watching the river and evenings playing yard games. Kids had fun on the dock where we saw crabs, jelly fish and even a sting ray. We rented a boat, used the pool at the nearby Marina, and adventures to Tangier island but mostly just hung out at home base. Owner was accommodating and easy to work with.

Rappahannock Reunion

My family has a long history with Virginia's "Northern Neck" and this property was the perfect location for four generations of us to recently gather for a long weekend. Although there were more than a dozen of us on hand, the spacious accommodations made it very easy for everybody to interact without feeling like we were on top of one another. Furthermore, the long dock and other amenities provided hours of fun for those who wanted to go fishing, crabbing, kayaking, swimming or playing cornhole -- the last of which we were even able to enjoy inside the large garage when it was raining outdoors.

Relaxing river getaway!

A large group of my friends and I stayed at this property and were shocked at how much space we had! The house is huge and the property is gorgeous with a great dock that fits everyone. One note is that the double bedroom is connected to another single bedroom and you have to walk through to access it which was a little odd. Otherwise, the place was more awesome than we could have imagined! We will likely return next year.

Amazing Riverfront Property

Huge home with a fantastic water front view. We had fun with the provided kayaks and corn hole and spent a lot of time on the spacious deck. Well equipped kitchen. Wireless wasn’t great in the apartment off the garage. We were fortunate to find this property available for a few days on fairly short notice for family to gather related to a burial service and the property exceeded expectations!

A truly exceptional property

A lovely, large, well decorated home on the river. Perfect for our large family gathering. We appreciated the small touches that made it very comfortable. It had plenty of towels, soap and shampoo, and even coffee and creamers. We were made to feel very welcome. The host was supportive and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed being on the water with the lovely views. It wasn't an issue for us, but future renters should be aware that one of the upstairs bedrooms was only accessible through another bedroom. Also, that the property is not on the Irvington side of the river. Overall, we loved our stay and highly recommend it for a large group of friends or family.

Excellent property and an amazing host, our best vrbo rental by far!!!!!!

The property is located at a deep country side ,It was a large house with private access to the lake through the back yard, We had plenty of amenities to enjoy inside the property such as voleyball, corn hole, shoe horse, board games, fishing and biking too. I believe we were one of the first guests and the property was in pristine condition, fully loaded kitchen items, toiletries etc. Bed linens were fresh, Master bedroom was outstanding. The host (Jeffrey Wood) was a nice gentleman ,he fixed cooling issue we had on Day1, and was always approachable throughout our stay, he was kind to let us take the blue crabs from the trap cage by the dock. He is even planning to offer Kayaks for the guests. Hands down this is by far the best VRBO rental experience for us.
