Enjoy your stay in the country. Dog friendly with a fenced-in yard

  • Welcome to our little cottage in the country. Come relax and enjoy the comforts of home in a cozy and comfortable environment. As you enter the outdoor courtyard you will find a seating area in front of a gas fireplace to enjoy. Also, you may have your meals at a bistro table for 2. A gas grill located under a roof in case of inclement weather. As you enter the home you will find an open floor plan with a fully equipped kitchen, dining table for 2, living room with comfortable seating to enjoy a book or watch a movie or television. Relax with music from a Bose Wave. The bedroom has a queen size bed and the bathroom has a curbless shower with a teak seat. Please look forward to being in the country enjoying life! We welcome your dog with bowls and a pet cover on the sofa. Maximum weight for your dog is 30#. Only 2 dogs are allowed with a $125 fee for one and $125 for the second one. Send information for approval. We do require that you cleanup after your dog and attend to them outdoors. Please note that our home does not accommodate children. Our home is convenient to Routes 30 & 283 to travel easily to Columbia, Lancaster City, Amish country, covered bridges, Gettysburg, Hershey, and day trips to Philadelphia, Baltimore,Washington DC, or NYC. If our home is not available please check our other homes: the FairView #655744 and the Mod Pod #4632936

This is our 2nd stay at the Bird House & we love it! It is so quaint and cozy! It’s secluded on a lovely farm property but is still close to town. Carol & Pete provide the comforts of home, including the best blueberry scones I’ve ever eaten! Our little Rico loves the little fenced in yard & the cozy courtyard! This is definitely a dog friendly space! We will definitely be back on our next trip to PA!

Wonderful hospitality and beautiful farm

The accommodations were beautiful, the hosts were extraordinarily friendly and welcoming, and their scones are the best we have ever had. We will definitely be staying with them again.

Peaceful long weekend

The place was cute, quaint and adorable. For being small the use of space was designed very well. We loved the animals and peaceful surroundings. Owners thought of everything, great special added touches. Loved it!

Quiet and Lovely

As everyone else says, this place is truly as lovely as advertised. We enjoyed the privacy and personal touch (delicious homemade scones and fresh eggs), and would definitely stay here again.

The blueberry pastry was very good. It was quiet, just what we are use to. We were glad to have farm fresh eggs like we eat at home. It was easy for us to get to and from our son's home in York.

Love it and we will be back again.

This was our second time staying here and we love it. The country setting is what we enjoy and pet friendly as well. Close to everything but tranquil and relaxing.

Charming

We enjoyed our stay. We visited Lancaster, Marietta, Lititz and Columbia which were only a short drive away . The amenities were gorgeous. We loved the fresh baked scones. Absolutely charming!

Definitely Recommend!

We had a wonderful time, everything was just as listed. The hosts were extremely attentive and communicative. The property was great and so were all the animals. We also really loved the scones :) Thabk you so much!

35th Wedding Anniversary

The property was just as the pictures showed. The owners brought us fresh made scones when we arrived, which were delicious. The house was absolutely perfect for our stay. We will be planning another visit. Thank you so much!

An awesome place. We were greeted with homemade scones, fresh cut flowers and farm fresh eegs. Grain free treats for our 2 yorkshire terriers with bowls for their food and water. Enjoyed the seeing the chickens roam the area. A doe and fawn came by to see us. We'll definitely stay here again.Communication with the host was great, quick response, with link for a local markets

The perfect stay!

Other than the constant sound of gunfire from a nearby shooting range, our stay at Carol and Pete’s “bird house” was absolutely wonderful- clean, well accommodated, and friendly with delicious blueberry scones and fresh farm eggs. We loved the roosters and cows!

Run don’t walk excellent place to stay

One of the cleanest places we’ve ever stayed. Cottage was very cozy and nicely decorated. Hosts were very accommodating and the nicest people. The farm fresh eggs and freshly baked blueberry scones were the best ever. Can’t wait to go back. 😊
