A lovely cottage in which no expense was spared by the owners, situated by the banks of the Canal, so close to passing yachts etc that verbal communication was possible. The amount of traffic in the canal was impressive and my partner and I spent many hours sitting outside in the garden enjoying watching all that was going on. Walks on the canal pathway were our daily exercise and highly recommended.
We slept in the bedroom overlooking the canal and the bed was “brilliant”, so cosy and comfortable.
The downside of staying in a semi remote location is mobile phone reception is poor and tv reception is non existent without using Wi-Fi to access personal channels both however are easily overcome. The other, and possibly only real downside which was disappointing, is that there are no restaurants, bars or hotels within reasonable walking distance which meant a drive for an evening out. The Cairnbaan Hotel, which is presently under redeveloped ,is a five minute walk away, when open it will be a great asset to the locality.
All said we had a great stay in Coorie Doon cottage..
