Bright, airy, fully furnished, new build studio apartment. Spacious kitchen/living area, double bed and storage space. Next to Borough Tube station (Northern Line.) 5 min walk to London Bridge, Borough Market, The Shard. 15 min walk The City & St Pauls. 30 min walk to West end.
The Space:
The flat is located in a great location with the shard and The famous Borough market just minutes walk away. Also perfect for all transport links with London Bridge and Borough tube station practically next door.
The Neighborhood:
The flat is an excellent location. 1 min from Borough underground station which is on the Northern Line and will take you 10 mins to Kings Cross or Angel. 5-7 min walk from Borough Market (the biggest and the best food market in London) and the Shard (Europe's tallest skyscraper)
Best Pubs
One of the oldest areas of London, Borough is renowned for its Dickensian and Shakespearean charm, it was home to the both the famous author and playwright for many years, and featured as the backdrop for some of their greatest works.
The Gladstone Arms (Lant street) around the corner. Is a quirky little boozer serving great pub grub and featuring live music, quiz and games nights
The George Inn on Borough High Street. Probably one of the oldest pubs in London. One of Shakespeare's locals, and what used to be an old brothel. Still has the same layout with all the small rooms upstairs.
The Lord Clyde on Clennam street is an Edwardian pub with original features including brass, mirrors and open fires, used a lot for filming due to its unique and traditional appearance.
The Trinity, which is right next to Borough tube station is a modern and very British pub serving excellent food and craft beers. Also has a fine dining restaurant above it called Edwins.
The Garisson pub, Bermondsey Street. Fantastic food served in a traditional pub setting. Seasonal menu and produce from some of the best farms and suppliers in the county. Bermondsey street is really worth a visit the whole area oil full of small boutique shops and restaurants.
Best Restaurants in the area
Brandisa (Spanish tapas) probably my favourite restaurant located right in the entrance of Borough Market.
Wright Brothers - Borough Market. Possibly the best oysters and fresh fish dishes in all of London.
Fish! Restaurant - Borough Market - a more traditional fish restaurant serving fish and chips and other more comfort food dishes.
Padella - Borough Market. Possibly the best plate of Pasta you will ever eat in your entire life!
Roast - Borough Market. Set high above the market in a converted warehouse, this sprawling restaurant offers the best game and poultry you are likely to find.
Theatre
The old Vic - Londons oldest and most traditional theatre is a 15 min walk away.
The new Vic - the younger sister of the old Vic, features some of the best and most challenging modern theatre around.
The Southwark Playhouse - 5 minute walk from the flat - this fairly new theatre group have garnered some fantastic reviews over the years and have just moved to the area from a smaller location.
10 minute walk to the Tate modern (the largest modern art museum in the city) from here you can cross the millennium bridge which takes you directly outside St. Pauls Cathedral. Alternatively if you continue past the Tate modern and walk further down the river for another 10 mins and cross Waterloo bridge this will bring you directly into Covent Garden, and the west end. Another 5/10 mins walk further down the river and you are directly in front of the London eye and Westminster bridge (Houses of Parliament)
If you head out to East London you can experience the more creative side of the city. Hackney and Shoreditch, particularly London Fields, Hoxton and Brick lane. The easiest way to get here is to take the Jubilee line (East Bound) to Canada Water and then change onto a Northbound overground train (towards Dalston Junction or Highbury & Islington) which will stop at all of the above locations.
Columbia Road and Broadgate Market are 2 great East London markets. They both run on a Sunday. Columbia Road is a huge flower market and you can get there by jumping on the 149 directly outside the front of the building on Borough High Street, and London fields (as above) is the nearest overground station to Broadgate market.
Getting Around:
Borough Tube Station is on the Northern Line and London Bridge is both Northern Line and Jubilee Line. There are also overground links from London Bridge to all of the South East, including Brighton and Gatwick.
The City of London, St Pauls, Blackfriars, Liverpool Street and the West End are all within easy walking distance, or there is a Tfl bike rental dock directly outside the apartment building.
Interaction with Guests:
The apartment is self check in but we are always available and around the area should are guests need anything.
