“The Yearling will always have a very special place in my heart. It is old Florida charm at its finest. The cabins are not 5-star accommodations, but rather exactly what you would expect to find located on Cross Creek between Lake Orange and Lake Lochloosa. They are clean, comfortable and offer an excellent view of the creek. The neighborhood peacocks call to each other while birds and other wildlife occasionally travel by. “We enjoyed our stay the house was very clean and nice the pool was absolutely amazing we had so much fun hanging out swimming. Me and my husband enjoyed playing pool on the pool table as well. “We stayed in the cottage while attending a UF graduation. It was a pleasure staying away from the congestion of G'ville. Instead, we enjoyed a beautiful drive via 441 right into town, about 15 minutes away. The mattresses were pretty soft - a 2 night max for me, thus the 4 stars. But the cottage was comfortable, we loved sitting on the front porch, enjoying the breeze & the scent of jasmine. The location didn't lend itself to taking walks, but there are nearby options for that.”

“When we checked in the dirty towels and linens were in a pile on the floor and the beds were unmade. We called the property manager and she was very apologetic - apparently the cleaning service had not come yet which she said never happens. “The property was not that difficult to find, although it is off a rather bumpy dirt road. But there's a gate to the property, and you really do feel like you're in your own private oasis. The cottage is small, but with two bedrooms, there's enough space to spread out if your party is small. Inside was very clean and comfortable.
