“We were told parking was not available at the property yet a few expensive looking cars were parked in the front of the hotel in the semi circle for all the time of our stay - so not sure why as the signs did say no parking yet they didn’t move! The spa was also not included in the price whereas at most hotels this is a standard offering for hotel guests and was charged daily so was very expensive. Breakfast was also a bit chaotic on our first morning, service was slow and not a lot of choice...

“The building is the oldest hotel in England so you can't expect it to be all shiny and gleaming. But it is very clean, slightly quirky and off shape and the floors were solid but uneven at times. This just added to the charm for us though as we live in a 90yr old house so it didn't surprise us. The room was very clean, the bathroom was nicely refurbished and came with nice toiletries provided. The bed was slightly firm but that's a personal preference so we can't complain about that. Checked in...

“Place smelled horrible. Bedsheets were stained. Mold all over the shared bathroom. I found a pair of used underwear beneath my mattress. The place had not been vacuumed in ages. Very shocked Expedia would allow a place like this to remain on their website. ”

“The staff were attentive and helpful. The restaurant manager was particularly engaging and was largely on her own on Sunday night but managed the restaurant with aplomb. The housekeeping staff were careful to report back quickly that I hadn’t left rings in the bedroom as suspected. I have since found them in the glove compartment of the car.”

“I was there for my mums funeral the people were very polite and pleasant the cottage was perfect for getting away from the stress I will be booking again for the 8th December ”

“El alojamiento Ensi muy muy antiguo y proporcionalmente con escasez de dotaciones en las habitaciones (pocos enchufes irregularidad en la calefacción….) el camino desde la carretera al Hotel completamente a oscuras sin ningún tipo de iluminación por la noche…… lo cual compensaba por el trato del personal que fue estupendo”

“We needed a place close to Stoke for an event we were all attending with friends. This place was perfect for the 6 of us that stayed there. The hours is very large, with a large kitchen and all amenities. We did not use the TV, so unsure of that function and options. It was nice to have 2 full bathrooms. There is a large fenced back yard where kids could play.”

“The staff and the breakfast were amazing however the rooms have no shampoo (body wash is not going to do it for me), no lotion, no tissues and no phone. No phone makes it extremely difficult for overseas visitors to contact reception. Even the charming lady on reception who confirmed that these amenities were not offered in the hotel states that they were a budget hotel ‘but maybe not - we are quite expensive’. ”

“We had a lovely stay, easy to find with nice touches of bread jam cereal and eggs. Would like a bedside lamp to be able to read and a small hoover or broom as we were staying a week .but apart from that couldn’t fault it at all, lovely to meet the owners who were helpful and friendly . Huge comfy bed and nice to be able to do the washing as the weather wasn’t good ”
