Charming Cottage, Fresh Eggs, Friendly Pets AND Pet Friendly!

  • Stunning sunsets, views from the cottage of pastures with a sweet horse that loves treats, on our historic Virginia farm. Our cottage, located in a private setting, with an outside hot tub with beach towels and a Solo stove for easy warm evening fires. The Cottage has a king size bed, fresh linens and towels, fully furnished kitchen, beautiful bath with a jetted tub, free WIFI, & central air and heating.
    History abounds with a Civil War incident occurring right here at the farm ask Betsy or Ed we are happy to share.
    To get you started we supply half a dozen eggs from our chickens and a baked treat for your coffee. There is coffee in the cottage too. If you would like eggs to take home they are $2.00 per dozen.
    We are Dog Friendly there is a $20.00 per pet per night fee, and they MUST be crated if you go out without them. Ravens Roost has in residence 3 dogs all rescues, 3 cats, 1 horse and 100 chickens.

Great spot to stay to explore the park. Nice and cozy inside and the hosts are very kind. A/C can be a little loud if you’re a light sleeper.

Great little place with the wife for a long weekend . The house were extremely nice and helpful. Had to great time feeding there horse . Great location to the caverns Will repeat for sure. And left with 2 dz fresh eggs

This was our 2nd visit to the cottage. Betsy and Edgar are very gracious, providing eggs and homemade bread for our arrival. The cottage is perfect for a couples weekend getaway and close to Skyline and Luray Main Street. There is a hot tub and firepit for guest use and the area is nice and quiet. We hope to be back for a 3rd time!

A very comfortable place with plenty of kitchenware, a very comfortable bed, beautiful views, and room for our pup to play ball. Betsy and Ed were so welcoming.

This is the cutest place! It is so relaxing to look out to window and watch the horses running around and the mountains! The hot tub was a treat after a day of hiking and the hosts were amazing! I really enjoyed staying there and chatting with them. I highly recommend this place.

We enjoyed the quiet, laidback feel while staying at the Raven's Roost. It was easy access to food and other interests and about 20 minutes to the Shenandoah N.P. at Thornton Gap entrance. The hosts, who live on the property, were friendly and accomodating. We appreciated the pet friendly accommodations. Ed and Betsy were thoughtful in leaving 1/2 dozen fresh eggs and tasty, homemade bread on our arrival.

I booked this for my daughter and her best friend for a pre-graduation weekend in the country. Coordination with the host was excellent and service was top-notch. This was the perfect cottage for a weekend getaway! Beyond picturesque setting. We were greeted by the owner’s dogs and had fresh eggs and bread waiting for us inside. We enjoyed listening to the sounds of the birds, loved watching the horse visit the field at night and especially loved seeing the bright stars every night. 10 out of 10, we will definitely be back to Ravens Roost!

Very kind and accommodating hosts. Excellent location and the place was very clean and quiet. The hot tub was amazing and the special touches of the homemade bread and eggs in the fridge made this stay even more special. A perfect getaway, Can’t wait to come back!

The location was amazing - 5 mins to town and 20 mins to amazing hiking. The stay had everything we need and was very comfortable. We loved the hot tub after hiking. The host was welcoming, easy going, and very helpful. Thanks for the eggs and fun weekend!

This is either our third or fourth time staying at their cottage. We wouldn't stay anywhere else while visiting Shenandoah National Park.

Nice and spacious cottage. Full kitchen was nice and a jetted tub! Outdoor hot tub was also nice to use. Loved how close it was to town and caverns but also feels remote. Owners were friendly and extra accomodating. Would definately stay again!

Perfect Getaway

This was the perfect place for a cozy weekend getaway, everything you could need was right there, accompanied by beautiful views and a friendly host couple. Amazing stay, would recommend.
