This is a great house with a nice view, nicely styled and an easy drive from the beach, but unfortunately there were a few issues - the kitchen has been recently renovated which is great, but none of the (new looking?) cookware worked on the induction cooktop, so after a long period of trial and error and consulting online manuals (no instructions provided), we found one single item in the kitchen that was compatible - a large baking dish (which was pretty tricky/impractical to use as a frypan/saucepan). When we brought it up with the property manager we were told to go and buy some induction cookware and be reimbursed (not exactly what you want to be spending time on on a short break, and not how I would have handled it as a previous host on this site). There was a blackout in the area on our second night which lasted a couple of hours - when power came back it was on low voltage so the kitchen appliances wouldn’t work properly (oven wouldn’t heat, kettle wouldn’t boil, microwave wouldn’t work etc). We contacted the property manager because we couldn’t find the fuse box and never got any reply. Given there were no candles or torches supplied in the property it made finding the fuse box outside at night in a thunderstorm pretty tricky! We also got a tyre puncture from a screw left in the carport probably from the recent kitchen reno and spent part of our time getting that fixed. So overall not the easiest stay - not all of it the fault of the host, but an induction stovetop definitely needs compatible cookware provided and that shouldn’t be the responsibility of the guest to buy! Likewise the property manager needs to be available and to respond in emergencies, and I think a torch is probably an essential thing to have. For the rate we paid I would certainly have expected those things to be provided, but they’re simple fixes so hopefully no one else has the same experience!
