Cataloochee family visit

The property owners were very responsive and attentive. Great communication with proactive notifications before and throughout our visit. The checkin and checkout process were highly efficient. The property was perfect for our family of four. The kids really appreciated the board games and the entire family loved the convenience of Netflix!

Rustic Mountain Cabin

This cabin had a welcoming mountain atmosphere and the manager welcomed us when we arrived. While it is noted in the VRBO description that the manager lives below the cabin with her dogs, we never heard them while in or out of the cabin. The only thing the other reviewers have mentioned and we concur is the dated condition of the mattresses, bedding, and towels. They could all use an update. Otherwise, the manager did everything she could to assist with electric and gas needs we encountered. She was very receptive and timely in her responses prior to and throughout our stay.

Maggie Valley Cabin

We enjoyed our stay in the cabin. The location was good for all we wanted to do. If there was a way to give the property manager more than 5 stars, I would. She responded to emails quickly and addressed our questions when we arrived. The all wood interior of the cabin added to the ambiance.

Maggie Valley Motorcycle trip

The property was clean and in good order. The property manager lives on the property and was very responsive to the one repair that was needed. The property listing shows 2 bedrooms and a bonus room with the 3rd bed. The bonus room is actually inside the upper bedroom and had no doors or privacy between 2 adult couples. Also, we did not find the beds comfortable. This may be due to our preferences for less firm beds. The downhill gravel driveway would be no problem for a car/truck but was not motorcycle friendly. I would stay here again if coming by car, with no more than 2 couples (or maybe bringing a small family for the upstairs room) and different mattresses. It is definitely a nice property, just not what we needed for the motorcycle weekend for 3 couples.

The location was conveniently next to shopping and attractions, but we were unaware that someone would be living below us in the downstairs area of the house. A couple of the lights did not work in the house. Overall it was a good trip and the property was not bad.

Cherokee Adventure

We felt that the advertisement of the property was misleading. There were not 3 bedrooms, only 2 with the bunk bed located inside the second bedroom (closet?). Having teenage girls and a boy, it wasn’t the best option but we made it work. The living room was tiny, the ductless A/Cs were out of order in each room and there were no directions for the home or the gas fireplace. It was convenient to where we wanted to visit and the weather was so that we didn’t need the AC or heat but it may have been miserable if we had! All properties we’ve visited previously have had a washer and dryer, this one didn’t so we had to use the local laundromat. The manager lives on property, in the basement, with 4 dogs which didn’t bother us at all but once again, it would’ve been nice to know.

Needs a deep clean and new linens badly

Property is in a fabulous location and manager very nice. However this property needs an extremely detailed and thorough cleaning. Linens were old and almost threadbare, covers not on pillows or beds. Front porch furniture was in need of repairs. Lots of air fresheners in use which made me feel like it was masking a lot. As an Evolve rental property owner mysef I was very disappointed with this home and the level of cleanliness provided at this price point and location.

A little disappointing

While this cabin is conveniently located & the property manager was super nice and accommodating; unfortunately the pictures of the cabin are not reality. There were no beautiful trees surrounding the cabin, instead you looked out at the four houses around it. The drive is very narrow with parking for two small vehicles. We had to have one person pull up the drive so our truck had room to turn around in order to get out. The fire pit was nice, but the chairs were cracked & wonky. When we removed the cover to start a fire there were old beer cans and what looked to be trash in it. The game room mentioned in several reviews is now occupied by a tenant with 4 dogs, along with the washer & dryer which most rentals offer. Although they didn’t bother us at all, having to be mindful of someone living downstairs all week & keep children from being too loud was not very relaxing. The AC & heating situation mentioned in a 2020 review is still an issue in that the interior, wall mount ACs are out of order & the fireplace is the only heat source. The mattresses need updating as do the flat pillows, old comforters and worn rugs. This could be a very nice rental cabin with a little updating.

Cozy Cabin

Would definitely rent this again! Beautiful view, day and night! Everything was wonderful, including the awesome fire pit area out back, and the fireplace in the living room. Dining oomph table was perfect for card games after dinner.. Host was great!!! Convenient location to get to Asheville, Canton, Waynesville, Sylva and Cherokee.

Wonderful Property Management

I can not express how nice the cabin was. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants to get away and have a peaceful place to stay. Love how nice and friendly the property manager was. Will be staying here again!!!

Clean cabin & Game room

5 min drive into Maggie Valley. Very clean and maintained. Fire pit and game room in basement was awesome. Views from back porch were great drinking my coffee in the mornings. You could see some of the 4th July fireworks from back porch. Only complaint would be to invest in better mattresses for the downstairs queen bed. Was not very comfortable. And there is no central air conditioning units, only window units. So it would get hot in downstairs bedroom which we fixed by leaving windows cracked at night.

Don’t stay here!!

Horrible experience! Drove 5 hours with 3 kids to find a property that was listed as having central heat to only have a small gas fireplace to heat 3 story home. Owner was very unhelpful and non apologetic. Had to stay in a motel and ended up canceling our vacation and driving back home. Miserable experience!!

Great cabin

Everything about the cabin was great. Due to the weather we just stayed indoors and played games downstairs. The cabin has a pool table, ping ball table, air hockey, fuse-ball table and a dart board. It made for great entertainment. We didn’t even turn on the tv. We saw elk nearby which was a bonus!
