Get away

In general we enjoyed our time. The house was in good shape, even though the couch was being held up by a log. One of the disappointments was the gas grill was broken (igniter and burner). The inside was filthy with food dripping all over the propane tank. We had brought meat from home to grill out.

Biking Get-a-Way 2024

As far as cleanliness, the property was basically clean. Some stains on carpet and we had to empty the dishwasher from the previous guest. I rated the check-in a "3" because they gave us a code for the keyless entry. Unfortunately, there is something mechanically wrong with the front door lock system and we couldnt get in. Walked around to back and the door was unlocked so that is how we got onto our rental. From there, we had to call the 800 number to tell them the keyless entry lock didn't work and they told us where we could find the actual physical key for the property. They were very helpful. Later, we discovered NONE of the back doors to the property had locks that worked. I didn't likethat I booked this place with VBRO and ended up with Vacassa ... kind of confusing as I already had an account with VBRO and never heard of Vacasa. As far as accuracy of the listing, there is NOT a TV or DVD player in the whole place. There is, however, a huge TV antenna on the outside of the property. Both TV and DVD player are listed on the amenities so if that is important to you, you should be aware of this. Also, I think the pictures online are dated. The furnishigs are getting worn and there are several knobs missing from cupboards and drawers. The place could use a little TLC but all-in-all, a very nice property. We came to bike so not having a TV wasn't a deal breaker. We loved the proximity to the bike trails and we had a great time! I would book again.

Overall a nice stay

Overall we had a nice stay. Great location and great size! A lot of the furniture is wobbly. We were hesitant to use nightstands and coffee tables. Even the dining room table chairs felt unstable. There were also a lot of burnt out lightbulbs. Lastly neither of the doors leading to the waterfront lock.

Very Quiet place with a beautiful lake. House had everything we needed. The air we had to shut off as it was freezing downstairs, and upstairs was comfortable. (froze the people sleeping downstairs after the first night) We did have to call the rental place as the code to enter the house on the door no longer worked and they had to provide us with a different code to get the spare key. But other than those its a great place overall!

Winter Wonderland

This a very comfortable and spacious house filled with all of the comforts of home. In a great location as it’s accessible to trails and many fun destinations in town (restaurants, gas, grocery, etc). Love the lake side views and accommodations offered.

Read the fine print

Television does not mean cable. There is NO CABLE OR ANTENNA ON THE PROPERTY. The high speed internet was dial up speed at best. Obviously because it is rural, internet is provided via a satellite dish that is mounted on the roof under a tree - pretty much the reason it was spotty and didn’t work real well. We didn’t go up there to watch RV all day, but when the sun went down and the mosquitoes came out, it would have been nice to either have cable or internet. The property manager pretty much blew us off when we complained about the internet. Had a guy show up and told us to reboot the router… really? Don’t you think I tried that? House was nice, bring your own spices as there are none. They also advertise a DVD player - but we didn’t find any DVDs on the property. Dogs had fun as there was plenty of room for them to explore. Careful at night though as we did see a pretty good size wolf. Our shepherd is 70# and the wolf was much bigger than she is. If you have a large family and want some get away time away from reality, this is the place. If you want to stay in touch with reality, keep looking for a different place.

Quiet Getaway with great walking paths

Loved this property. Beautiful location. There are great walking or biking paths all around the lake. Manny's Parkside restaurant just opened not far from this house. Amazing food and service.

Fall Weekend in Manitowish Waters

Very nice house on Rest Lake to enjoy a long October weekend in the northwoods. Large house with a big yard on a quiet dead end road. Plenty of space for our group of 6 adults. A couple of things to note for renters: No TV service, cable, antenna or satellite. Also in the Fall the lake water level is down, for us it was 3 feet low, the dock was unuseable.

Blue by the Bay

Lovely home and pretty views. Firm matress so appreciated and comfy. Unfortunately previous guests left very dirty frying pans. Otherwise, nice and clean and inviting. Outside needs a bit of TLC as does dock. Since there is no wifi, a radio for some music would be nice. Good location.

Classic Lake Home with Beautiful View

Classic, very clean and well supplied interior with exec home details and lots of space for 2 families or 8 -9 ppl. We were “graced” with an appearance by two of our college- agers for the first day and a half which pinched parking (of course each with own car) but there is enough space for 4 cars/suvs comfortably though. Great area and location. Weather wasn’t the best for us but had fun playing inside and out when we could. Large fire pit is great and stocked with wood. We had our dogs with us and the enjoyed the lakefront and large private yard too. Owners just made an upgrade to their boat lift while we were arriving (works great) and cleaning up yard area after some major storm damage to the trees from the prior days. They were very nice and went out of their way to provide a couple extra chairs and offer other amenities. Just a mile or two from the small town of Manitowish Waters by car or take the boat across and park at the beautiful public boat docks available. Also close to the ski show Saturday and Wednesday nights - cruise out to watch or join others on shore at the park pavilion near the boat launch. So many options with this home and location - just wish we had a few extra days and better weather!
