We're told at reception that the room was up 2 flight of stairs but it would be worth it, Walking into room 12 our breath was taken away, it was definitely worth the climb. “We had a great stay at The School House. The room was very comfortable and Helen was very helpful in providing a delicious breakfast so we could leave promptly to see the Manchester Marathon. There is a pleasant walk nearby (recommended by Helen) and we had a great meal at The Fox - just a short walk away. ”

“We were met with a very warm welcome on arrival. The owner was incredibly helpful, offering advise on places to eat and interested in our visit. The room was immaculate and the bed was comfortable. The tea caddy was well stocked. The Aircon was the best we've experienced in years! The decor, atmosphere and architecture of the great hall was amazing and would make a superb venue for a party or wedding. We would absolutely return next time we're in the area.”

“Excellent friendly pub and adjacent hotel. Two little issues could make it a lot better. Box of tissues in the bathroom and grab handle on the wall above the bath/shower as the bath is quite slippery in spite of its no slip surface.”
