Staying at the Seaesta Shack was a great getaway for our family. The house was comfortable and relaxing. Just far enough from town for some quiet, close enough to the beach for a quick walk in the waves. Jess is quick to respond with any questions or concerns. We look forward to coming back.

The property was more then we ever expected. Beautiful inside and out. The fishing was great, the beach was close and perfect conditions. The only thing we would recommend is a handrail going up to the bedrooms, for the elderly and ppl with bad knees. We would live to stay here again in the future. Totally going to recommend this place.

Great River Property: Fishing & Beach Fun.

We’ve stayed at several properties in Matagorda, and this one stands out by far! The hosts are absolute pros — hands down the best communication we’ve ever had through Vrbo (and we’ve rented all over the country). Super organized, super responsive, and genuinely thoughtful.The location is amazing — right on the beautiful Colorado River! Our teens were in heaven fishing and crabbing off the dock. During the day, we piled into the Jeep and drove straight onto the beach (yes, you can drive on the beach — just make sure your vehicle is up for it). It was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation.The hosts have truly thought of everything. They even installed a water system because Matagorda water isn’t always the best — such a game-changer. Plus, there’s a super easy 2-minute drive into town to fill up a 5-gallon jug with fresh water. Details like that really set this place apart from others in the area. The kitchen is also fully stocked — just bring your groceries and you're good to go!Only small hiccup was with the washer/dryer, but the hosts responded immediately and already have plans to address it. Even with the minor glitch, we were still able to get a few loads done, no biggie at all.Just one safety tip: walk with care on the stairs to the upstairs bedrooms. The hosts did put down anti-slip strips, but still worth taking it slow, especially with kiddos or if you're carrying things.Overall — we highly recommend this property! It’s a perfect river beach combo.

Great spot near fishing and kayaking!

This spot was close to kayak launching spots and fishing hot spots - which was the primary purpose of our trip. The lit fishing deck was an added bonus! The house was clean and perfect for our family of four. The kitchen was nicely stocked with cookware, dinnerware, and utensils. We had plenty of towels and toiletries for our stay. We would definitely stay again if we find our way back to the area.

Great stay

We had a great stay . Very clean . The stairs were a little tricky since there was nowhere to hold on to and father in law did have a little trouble but we managed it . We loved the pier and green light !

Five star stay at Matagorda

We truly enjoyed our stay here at Matagorda. The location was great with a nice dock for fishing. Enjoyed by our whole party. House itself is well laid out and very comfortable. Kitchen is super well-stocked with cooking utensils and cookware (more so than the usual rental) which was appreciated! Overall great stay and hope to stay again soon.

Long weekend escape

One of the best long weekend get aways!! House was better than expected. Clean, stocked with little touches everywhere. Very inviting and comfortable. Dock was great to fish from. Kids absolutely loved it and did not want to leave. Roomy, just can't say enough! Perfect for our family get away!

Perfect 4th of July weekend!

Everything was perfect! We fished on the dock and saw jellyfish and crabs and all kinds of stuff that had the kids amazed. The house was clean and exactly as advertised. The host checked in and made sure we were happy. The location was PERFECT! Spent two days at the beach and watched fireworks on the 4th. Snappers is a mile away and was lots of fun! We will definitely be back!

Best River house in Matagorda

The house is gorgeous. New amenities, great location. There are chairs for the beach provided, a bbq pit, fully stocked kitchen and great outdoor space for hanging out. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable beds! Kids room slept 5 kids comfortably. We had little kids and they loved the bunk beds. Loved the everything about this house and since this is an annual family trip for us, we definitely plan to book again.

I can’t stop raving about this property!

We absolutely adored this property. The hosts were amazing, the house was immaculate and it was so up-to-date. The hosts have truly thought of EVERYTHING. All the extras make this my absolute FAVORITE rental we’ve been to thus far. The beds were comfy, the shower head had AMAZING pressure. And it’s was so clean!! The electric sofas and the electric fireplace were the cherry on top! Also, the communication with the hosts was superb! Check-in and check-out instructions were fool proof. Can’t wait to book again!!!

Great house on the river

The house was great. Very clean and great location on the river with close proximity to the beach. The owners keep you well informed during the entire stay and are very friendly. The only complaint which is minimal of the property is the single thermostat is located downstairs so the upstairs can get a little stuffy at night for sleeping unless you really crank the AC down.
