We had such a wonderful stay at this mountain home. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked-everything you could possibly need to cook and gather around meals together. There were cozy spaces throughout the house to read, relax, and truly unwind.The kids (grandkids) absolutely loved the gaming closet, which had every game imaginable and kept them happily entertained. Sleeping accommodations were perfect for our family, with everything from king beds to double beds and bunk beds-comfortable and thoughtfully arranged. One of our favorite spots was the side porch with the outdoor fireplace. Sitting outside wrapped in blankets, sharing stories and laughter, made for such special memories. Although snow and ice cut our trip short, that one night together as a family was truly priceless.Thank you to our host for making this trip so enjoyable and welcoming. We highly recommend this property and are already looking at dates to come back again. Perfect night and memories for our family.

The house was extremely well appointed beautifully decorated, including for Christmas! The Christmas tree in my granddaughter‘s bedroom was a special touch. The hostess was extremely communicative and very welcoming.

One of the best rentals for us and we've stayed in a lot. Beautiful home, very well stocked, and clean. Good communication. Large and spacious living areas. Close to many activities. We will be back.

Great stay overall but lacking few things

Rented out the property for our family. Was good size and close to the Massanutten resort and park.Only complaints I have about the property-hot water runs out pretty quickly. We tried to shower at home and within 10 minutes the water turned lukewarm to cold. - the shower head downstairs was leaky which made the water pressure terrible - overall lacked a few amenities : didn’t have toothpaste, shampoo,, coffee (things that would have made the stay exceptional, but lacking)

Great vacation home!

Great property and immaculate. Efficient communication with owner made things easy. Fantastic downstairs area for kids and gorgeous upstairs for adults. Kitchen is stocked better than our own home.

Amazing property!

This house was EVERYTHING the other reviews mentioned and more! Don’t hesitate to book this property. It could not have been more clean, it felt brand new. We hope to return again in the future.

Favorite Family Getaway

The Aviary has become our favorite place to vacation. We have stayed twice and both times the property was in immaculate condition. The home is spacious and beautiful. The kitchen is well stocked with essentials and all the pots, pans, and dishes you could need. There is also a closet full of games for all ages. The view from the balcony is so beautiful and the host, Monica, is so lovely and easy to communicate with about checkin/checkout. The resort area is also great - tons of fun things for families to do, but without the pretentious resort feel. This is truly a gem!

Fall Break trip

Great home and beautiful location. We took advantage of the activities in the resort, including the indoor water park and miniature golf. The house was very comfortable for our group - the four kids stayed downstairs and two couples in the upstairs bedrooms. Would definitely choose this property again!

Our third year at The Aviary

This is the third time our family has stayed at The Aviary. We love everything about this house. The location is great. Check-in and check-out are simple. The accommodation is immaculate and there is so much to do around Massanutten. We’ll definitely be back to this house in the future.

Great house & location

Monica's home is beautiful. The kitchen is well stocked with cutlery, dishware, appliances, and pots & pans. The large great room on the main floor was a terrific meeting place for our extended family of 7. Bedrooms are comfortable and bathrooms plentiful. Gas BBQ grill made meal prep easy keeping the kitchen area cool. Clothes washer & dryer convenient on main floor. Traveling to the resort pool and other activities was easy as well as venturing to places of interest in the area as highway access was very close by. This home is highly recommended. With just one zone air cond., the lower level got much cooler than the upper floor. We would shut the AC off at night. Each floor maintained a comfortable temperature through the night.

Highly recommended

The house was great- pictures don’t do it justice but everything is updated and clean. Big open areas and lots of space. We had a group of 8 and everyone had their own space. Beautiful views and scenery! The location was great. Everything was close(pools,waterpark,adventure park,rec building,general stores,bars,and restaurants). Stores and restaurants outside of the resort were pretty close too. Monica, the property manager was always very responsive and helpful. We are thinking of returning for a winter getaway next time!

Family 4day kayaking adventure

The Aviary on Trevino Dr was ideal to accommodate 10 of us from 3 generations ages 80 to 13 as we made three 7-mile runs on the nearby Shenandoah river full of small mouth bass. The rental's pool table was a big hit with the men. The well stocked kitchen impressed us. Art work was very lovely and tasteful. A great stay!

Long Weekend Getaway

The rental process was clear, easy, and efficient. Monica was responsive from the minute the property booking was sent. This property is well maintained, spacious, great location with beautiful views! We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend getaway!

Beautiful home!

The house was lovely, clean, and well stocked with the basic necessities. Our kids loved the downstairs area, especially the reading nook under the stairs. We will definitely be back!

Exactly what we needed . . .

This was the most well-appointed and stocked vacation home I've ever rented. This place is an absolute gem. If you're intimidated by the driveway, there is ample room for 1-2 vehicles completely off the road at the bottom of the hill.
