No. 17 is a charming duplex townhouse with one of the most enviable addresses in Mdina — Malta’s ancient capital and iconic ‘Silent City’. Overlooking St. Paul’s Square and the Cathedral, this historic home sits truly inside Mdina’s walled heart — a rare chance to stay where nobles and bishops once gathered, with cafés, quiet alleys, and landmarks just steps away.

Lovingly renovated with tasteful touches, No. 17 is perfect for two to three guests seeking calm and character.

The townhouse is spread over two levels, connected by a traditional spiral staircase. The ground floor opens to a bright dining area with a circular table, plenty of natural light, and a well-equipped kitchen with oven, hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, washing machine and ironing board. A shower room with separate WC completes the lower floor.

Upstairs, the spacious bedroom has two single beds that can be joined to form a large double, with views directly onto the Cathedral. The adjoining living area has cozy sofas — the perfect spot to relax, read one of the books or maps we provide, and watch Mdina’s timeless square go by. A real highlight is the traditional balcony — accessible from both the bedroom and living room — perfect for morning coffee or sunset people-watching over the main square.

Extra sleeping options for an additional guest can be considered in the living or dining area, but please note privacy may be limited for the additional extra guest.

Guests have full and exclusive access to the entire property. There are no shared spaces — it’s fully yours during your stay.

Myself or a member of my family will be available to welcome the guests to the property. We live nearby and are always happy to help during your stay. You’ll have full privacy, but if you ever need local recommendations, help with bookings (airport transfers or other taxi journeys), or anything unexpected — we’re just a message away and ready to assist.

Other details to note:
For people that book for a few nights we are happy to prepare a small welcome package with some traditional food and drinks from Malta including a local wine favoured by the locals.

No. 17 is not a party property — Mdina is a quiet, historic town and we wish to respect its unique atmosphere.

Free parking is available just outside Mdina’s city gates (2–3 minutes’ walk).

Environmental Contribution (Eco-Tax): In line with Maltese regulations, an environmental contribution of €0.50 per person per night applies to guests aged 18 and over, capped at €5 per stay. This will increase from 1 July 2026 to €1.50 per person per night, applied to guests aged 18 and over, capped at €22.50 per stay. This contribution is collected in cash during check-in.
