We really enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable and spacious home. Kitchen had everything we needed and kids had fun making smores in the fire pit. Home had a beautiful view. Thank you for making our stay wonderful.

Return to Mentone and Valley Head

Great view of Valley Head. Enjoyed watching the sunset on the final day of our visit. Very quiet cottage and quite comfortable. We had a wonderful time.

Celebrated our 40th Anniversary weekend with family. The cottage property provided more than sufficient accommodations for the six of us, and included a stellar AM and PM view of the valley throughout the day from the large deck area. We will be back for a longer stay in 2026.

What a peaceful step-away from the day-to-day grind!

Beautiful mountain views with such a cozy abode! Loved sipping my coffee overlooking the mountain each morning and hearing the leaves whisper around the fire pit in the late afternoons. Felt like our own private retreat!

Great location. Clean. Relaxing

The home is clean, easy to locate, and tremendous views! Great location for many activities in the area. Responsive host. We wanted a quiet and relaxing weekend getaway and that is exactly what we had. We would definitely recommend this rental to anyone from a couple to a family. The home was spacious and had all the necessities. Thank you for a wonderful weekend away.

Open design with elements of mid century and modern day mixed. I like older homes for their lived in feel. The furnishings in the bed rooms and the vintage paint by number paintings are my favorite. I’ll definitely stay there again. The deck on the back of the house provides a great view off the brow.

Beautifully decorated and maintained cabin and property! Super clean, amazing views! Music was playing when we arrived on the property and the cabin was so charming and welcoming. We were also given a great welcome gift basket with snacks and local homemade soap! The property was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful views. Great communication from the property management company. Would highly recommend definitely book again.

Wow, just wow!! Talking Leaves was everything as advertised and more! Misti was an amazing communicator, offering suggestions for things to see and do as well as reminding us of important things to remember! Definitely made 30th our annual girls trip memorable! Here are a couple if comments - *Perfect setting with great views! Loved the convenience of the location! Nice fire pit! *The place provides most everything could you need during your stay. *Perfect - just not enough time together!

Convenient, clean, and comfortable

I had four criteria when booking: dog-friendly, king-size beds, two baths, and one level. Talking Leaves Cottage fit the bill. The spacious front yard was an added extra as was the incredible view off the back deck. I loved the Christian influence that was apparent there as well as the owners' love for dogs. This was our pup's first outing, and it was a great experience. The nearby hiking was a huge asset, and we enjoyed eating our complimentary meal at The Hatter Cafe, which provided a unique and fun motif. It rained a lot over the Memorial Day weekend, but it didn't dampen our enjoyment. The falls at both Little River and DeSoto State Park were worth the hike. I wish I could have spent more time on the back deck soaking in the view, but the rain did not allow. The cottage was perfect for our needs and plenty spacious for our crew. On the negative side, I am not a fan of animal skin floor coverings.

Everything you need!

We loved our stay at the Talking Leaves Cottage. The place has beautiful views, the house has everything you need, the host it’s very responsive. We were able to slow down, rest, and enjoy the area. Nice trails to a waterfall nearby. There are groceries and restaurants options in the area.

Reminder of the beauty created by a good and loving God!

Talking Leaves Cottage is an amazing place to stay. The hosts were quick to respond to questions and thoughtful in preparing for visitors. This home is warm and comfortable, roomy and with an amazing view from the large back deck. The beds were comfortable, living room was perfect for a large group to gather, long dining table seated up to 10 for meals together or cards/ games, and the kitchen was well equipped to prepare delicious meals. Evenings on the large back deck to watch the sunset was wonderful - a reminder of the beauty created by a good and loving God for us to enjoy. This home was also close to several gorgeous waterfalls and hiking trails that we enjoyed while in the area. We definitely plan to revisit this cottage on future visits to Mentone. Thanks for sharing your home with us!
