¡GEMA EN EL CORAZÓN DE LA ANTIGUA MESILLA!
Imagínese escuchar el sonido de las campanas de la iglesia y salir por la puerta hacia la encantadora plaza de Old Mesilla. Compras en las tiendas únicas alrededor de la plaza y cenas en una variedad de alimentos que incluye nuestra famosa comida mexicana.

Casita Azul es una escapada de dos dormitorios, un baño, 900 pies cuadrados. Es una propiedad histórica, que forma parte del bloque que figura en el Registro Nacional de Lugares Históricos que data de la década de 1850. La casita fue una vez un granero y luego se convirtió en vivienda. Es un adobe con paredes gruesas. Los techos son las tradicionales latillas (pequeñas longitudes de madera) y vigas (grandes vigas de madera). La entrada está adornada con grandes puertas dobles de madera talladas, antiguas, mexicanas que se abren a un portal cubierto (porche). Los propietarios están justo al lado y se comparte un patio común. Un patio de ladrillo nuevo está disponible para relajarse bajo el sol de Nuevo México. La casita también tiene su propio porche y acceso al área del patio trasero. Tiene una puerta para mascotas, por lo que existe la posibilidad de traer un perro pequeño a mediano. Al entrar en la casita, entras en la cocina que tiene detalles de azulejos mexicanos azules y una sala de estar abierta. El dormitorio trasero comparte el área de la oficina y una cama doble. El baño tiene bañera y ducha. El área del baño tiene un calentador y ventilador separados. Hay dos unidades de calefacción y refrigeración refrigeradas muy silenciosas para que la casita sea acogedora durante todo el año. También hay un cuarto de servicio muy básico con lavadora y secadora y un lugar para guardar maletas y suministros de viaje.

Once again, we loved our stay in the charming, clean, and comfortable Casita Azul. The owners have thought of everything in this tastefully appointed home. Mesilla is a gem in New Mexico, and this house is just off of the original town plaza. This is a welcome respite if traveling: The thick walls and neighborhood mean that the only outside noise you hear comes from the bells of the local church. We hope to return again.

It was not just a very comfortable home but the history of both the familiy and their role in the developing Mesilla was amazing. We learned about the history through literature and art as well as from the host themselves and through their National Trust building. The location put us right on the square so we could visit sites by foot and walk the canals through pecan orchards. In a few days we felt like we knew Mesilla well. The house was a big part of the charm.

La Casita Azul is a really nice, quiet, and comfortable place to stay, and it was our most favorite rental property we've stayed in over the years. Its location just behind the historic Mesilla plaza is ideal - visitors can walk everywhere - and the lodging itself is charming and authentically furnished. The hosts are right next door in the historic building and are attentive, kind, and welcoming. This is a gem amid the many generic hotel chains in Las Cruces.

This was probably one of our best VRBO stays yet. First and foremost was the cleanliness. The floors were white sock clean. There were lots of decorative knickknacks appropriate for the location and accommodation. They were dust free. The kitchen utensils, dishes, pots and pans were clean. The towels and bedding were fresh and not wore out. So first impressions we were off to a good start. Next, we were cooking most of our meals, nothing fancy. There were adequate pans and utensils for cooking. The appliances were clean and in good working order. Additionally, the unit was quiet and the air conditioning worked great. We also enjoyed the table and chairs on the patio outside the bedroom area. The living area furniture was comfortable and WiFi was fast and reliable. We also enjoyed the historic ambiance of the unit. The location was great. Not even a block’s walk and we were on the historic square in Mesilla. We didn’t have to worry about finding a parking spot. Casita Azul made a good base to explore the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument, the Prehistoric Trackways National Monument, and White Sands National Park. Last, Mary Helen was quickly responded to communications and was very friendly and helpful. We would love to go back and stay at Casita Azul again sometime.

The owners did a beautiful historical renovation of the home that preserved the cultural art and style of Mesilla. The home was immaculate and the furnishings were very comfortable. The home is in a quiet neighborhood just a block from the Plaza. I enjoyed hearing the church bells ring every half hour (they dont ring during the night). My little dog enjoyed the secure backyard and walking around the village.

And Mesilla is the place to stay in southern NM! Casa Azul is steeped in the history of the town, along with a highly responsive host and sparkling clean spaces. The apartment is very well-appointed with kitchen ware, etc., and is decorated to reflect the deep heritage of the area. Also, primo location. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

Ok place for a few nights, comfortable bed. Consider an update to older cookware and kitchen appliances, providing nicer soaps and shampoo/conditioner (we were given mismatched, half-used bottles of discount store brands), cleaning sofa upholstery, providing nicer hangers (closet had old wire hangers). Owner has some nice art, but there was too much clutter for our tastes.

Our stay was pleasant and a good experience. The place is really convenient to the old town square. The host is lovely and parking was easy with the reserved spaces. The unit is a bit small, but still bigger than we expected. The decor is maximalistic, in today’s trendy term. Our family tends to be more minimalistic, which is why we could not stop looking at all of the many neat trinkets in the place, which is well arranged. I love natural light, so the unit was slightly dark with the blue lighting. However, this would be a nice place to cool down in the summer months. The couch is low and a bit difficult to get out of, but the beds sleep nicely. Hot water is limited, so stagger showers, if possible! Overall nice place with a few inconveniences that were expected. The visit and experience was definitely worth the quirks!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the spectacular Casita Azul which was perfect for our needs and in a wonderful location. Casita Azul brims with art and beautiful plants which complement its adobe charm. Our gracious host, Mary Helen, has thought of everything her guests might need. We especially enjoyed the well equipped kitchen, the gorgeous patio space, and ample seating throughout.

The property is historic and everything in it has been refined to the smallest detail. Artwork fills every wall, nook, and cranny creating a colorful atmosphere. Everything you need to cook is provided in the kitchen. The king sized bed was very comfortable and had luxurious sheeting. EVERYTHING WAS THE BEST!!!

This beautiful property was very clean and very inviting. The communication with the host was excellent. It was like taking a trip back in time without sacrificing the comforts of today. The property and the surrounding areas were full of charm. The church bells from the nearby church were a welcomed surprise. We would definitely consider staying here again.
