I actually stayed here about two years ago when they were finishing the renovations. I was a little nervous this time because some of the online reviews weren't great, but they seem to be based on the previous ownership. The hotel is newly renovated now, and it looks great.
The only downside was that my room smelled like someone had smoked cigarettes in it before we arrived. I could also smell marijuana in the hallway outside my room from time to time. It wasn't enough to ruin my stay, but it was definitely noticeable, especially since I was traveling with my 7-year-old son, who really dislikes the smell of smoke. Luckily, I had some air freshener with me, so it wasn't a huge issue.
The location is super convenient—very close to the airport and not far from downtown Miami. They do offer breakfast for an additional charge, but we skipped it because there's an IHOP right next door, which made grabbing breakfast really easy before checking out.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. Check-out is at 11:00 a.m., but they were kind enough to let us stay an extra 30 minutes while we waited for our Uber, which I really appreciated.
If you're driving, there's plenty of parking, so that's another plus.
Overall, it was a comfortable stay in a convenient location. Aside from the smoke smell, I really have no complaints and would stay here again."
