This cottage is perfect for a couple or a couple with a family. It is very spacious and super clean!!! The layout was very thought out. Check-in was very easy and located near the park. The WiFi is sporadic but that because you are not near any major cities. Charles is very helpful and knowledgeable to give you ideas what to see at your time in Yosemite. Definitely stay here!!!

Charles was great. He gave us some fantastic recommendations on which trail to hike and vantage points to visit based on the short time we were going to be there. The cottages was very clean too.Thanks for a great stay!

Beautiful and quaint home

Lilac House is so quaint! The beds are very comfortable and the house has all the amenities you need. We cooked dinner and breakfast and had ample cookware and plate settings. The home is just an hour from the park. Leave early or it will take another hour because of traffic. We left by 7 each morning then didn't leave til 9 one morning and sat in traffic once we got close to the park. Use all the tips the owners give you for your stay. Highly recommend.

Perfect stay

The Lilac Yosemite house is immaculate. I really appreciated all the park information provided by the host and the personal phone call. The suggestions for exploring the park are excellent. We had a wonderful stay. It was our first time visiting Yosemite and I hope to visit again. Words cannot describe the beauty.

Amazing!

I can’t say enough great things about this house! The owner, a former Yosemite tour guide for 40 years, provided so many recommendations on things to do in Yosemite. The house itself is wonderful. Almost brand new, everything in the home is spotless and the attention to detail is second to none. All of the light switches are labeled, the kitchen is well stocked, and the closets are huge with plenty of hangers and shelves. Also the paper towels and toilet paper provided are good quality—no cheap stuff! The open concept kitchen, living room, and dining room is huge, and each bedroom is roomy. Both bathrooms are good size also, with the master bath boasting a huge shower. The house also features a wraparound porch and outdoor grill. Highly recommend!

Best Place in Midpines

Charles was a great host. He provided a good overview of the unit and it was a really nice place. Well kept and maintained. The sunsets from here were just perfect and the solitude something to be treasured. We spent 4 nights here and it went by too quickly. The only minor issue was not having an iron and ironing board, but the wrinkle free drying worked pretty well too.

Hikers Paradise

Up early and off to Yosemite with a tremendous 45 minute view of the Merced river…….returned late with another tremendous river view. Never boring!

Amazing home. Would 100% recommend to friends and family. It took almost exactly one hour to reach Yosemite Valley but we left the house by 5am every day. The line entering the park can get to be an hour wait at times. Charles has amazing communication with the guests and has great advice for gas and groceries as well as things to see in the park. You will not be disappointed

Wonderful stay at the Lilac House

We had a wonderful time using the Lilac house as a base for our time exploring Yosemite. The owner was a wealth of knowledge of the park with a bunch of helpful suggestions. The house was spacious and immaculate with a fully stocked and ready to use kitchen.

Road Trip 25

A fantastic, immaculate property in a perfect place for anyone visiting Yosemite NP. Great comms with owner with the property being comfortable, clean and quiet. Loved every minute at the Lilac House and we looked forward to getting 'home' after busy days out and about. We can't recommend this property highly enough.

Very Quiet and Clean Home

The Lilac House was well maintained and every detail taken care of ! The owner was so helpful in regard to giving us information regarding Yosemite NP, Mariposa and Midpines. He even called to let us know that Glacier Point Rd had opened up and that we could possibly drive it before we left. Otherwise we would have missed it. He was super responsive in getting back to us with any questions we might have had. The Lilac House had everything we needed, the appliances were high end and it was spotless. The one little thing I would mention, is that it was challenging finding the turn off if you were getting there at night. He does give very accurate and detailed directions, but you really have to pay attention not to miss it. It was worth the effort, though. Had a great stay!

Beautiful house in a beautiful location

The house had everything essential needed for a comfortable stay. Minimalism in a beautiful way. The location was peaceful amidst the mountains. Very quiet place to get way from busy life. The host was very prompt and friendly and took the time to call and walk through the house amenities and information about the area before the stay. One thing to note - all the kitchen utensils/cutleries are available. But remember to bring any cooking ingredients (spices, oil etc). Overall, a beautiful house in a beautiful location.

Perfect little spot!

First, all the reviews you read about this property are true. It is immaculate and the communication with the owner is worthy of tour guide status! The thing that separated this place from others is that there was no clutter. Nothing looked used (granted this is a newer property but still!). For those who are OCD - this is a dream! Everything is labeled. All guess work is taken out of the equation for what light switch does what and where. The tap water was excellent too! The utensils, cooking spatulas etc and pots and pans were nice. Towels and linens were comfortable. Yes, the internet was spotty but that was in the description and didn't take away from our stay bc after all - you are in the Yosemite area! We loved being able to back our truck right up to the front door to unload and load every day. Very convenient. Only thing that gave me anxiety each day was the return trip from Yosemite as it was dark (we stayed mid-November) each night and finding this entrance was a bit of a challenge. We finally figured out some markers that helped us spot the driveway (which is definitely steep!) for us to turn in. The trick though is that you are in the fast lane and need everyone behind you to recognize your blinker to know you are turning left when there doesn't even appear to be an entrance/driveway!! Much easier to see in the day time though! Key question is would I stay here again? Absolutely. 45-50 mins from Yosemite Valley!
