  • This rustic hundred-year-old house sits on 44 acres, which border thousands of acres of USA Forest Service land. Wildlife is abundant including deer, turkey and wild hogs! Have fun boating, fishing, waterskiing, or pontooning on Clearwater Lake, only a twenty-minute drive! Enjoy boating, kayaking, canoeing, or fishing on Black River only two miles away. We are also located only two miles from Blue Hole aka The Gulf and just a few miles from Markham Springs.

Loved being able to bring our dogs! Cabin was clean and was well stocked with the essentials. Location is close to great fishing spots and close enough to town to run in for a quick dinner. Enjoyed the fire pit as well.

House was as described and enough room for our party. Questions I had for the host were answered quickly and very helpful. Be prepared for lack of cell service and internet in the area.

We had a great time staying here- plenty of room and beds for everyone- we had a party of 6. We are thinking about renting again for a Christmas gathering!

House and property were exactly what we were looking for. Away from people and in the woods. Owners are very nice people. Will definitely stay again next year.

Love this place

Beautiful cabin in a great location. We loved the layout of the house with plenty of room for our family to spread out and have our own space as well as plenty of space to make memories. The creek bed provided hours of fun for the kids to play in and the fire pit was relaxing after a day of adventuring at nearby sites.

Family getaway

This was a wonderful place nestled perfectly in the woods. The property was well maintained and the house was absolutely beautiful!! My wife, my mom, and our two sons and their family was with us. We had our annual family reunion in Van Buren. We all had a wonderful weekend!!!

Great house for family time

My husband and I and our two grown children and their four children had a nice relaxing couple of days at the cabin. I particularly enjoyed the patio. The kids enjoyed playing on the lawn. We were close enough to the river for a float trip and the lake for a couple of hours of fun after a day of rain. Just can't help Mother Nature. I would recommend this property for a family getaway.

Family Gathering

The location is somewhat remote and consequently very quiet and private. Loved that. Cell signal was intermittent and there was no television, no DVD player which forced the family to actually spend time together playing games and talking. Glad we did it.

Great house for the weekend

This house worked great for two families for the weekend! It’s a short drive to town and convenient for both the lake and River. The kids brought balls and enjoyed volleyball and soccer in the large flat yard! It’s in the woods so we used a lot of big spray, but that’s expected. Owners were very responsive via text and helpful. We would love to stay again in the future.

The Magical Place

If I could tell everyone to just go stay here by yourself or with people you love. You actually get the connection of your soul and the good in others. The one place to awaken your real life. I love this place it's gives me perspective every time I visit. I highly recommend for anyone and everyone. Could possibly be the best kept secret!

Girls weekend for family reunion

We loved the property! 5 women met here to attend a family reunion in the area. We found the accommodations perfect for us and some family members to come hang out for additional visiting. While this is set up for hunting, it served us very well. The one disappointment was the wifi barely worked and two of us needed that for last minute deadlines. If you are able to fullydisconnect it is perfect.

Family visit to grandma

Property was in decent order and repair, although there were no trash bags or toilet paper. Inside the home was a little dirty but overall fairly clean. Internet is EXTEREMELY slow, mostly unusable.

How do I describe this place but as amazing! Felt like I was home in my parent’s house. The place was clean and well supplied with all the essentials. Every morning you can enjoy the sounds of birds in the air as you enjoy your coffee on the porch. At night we enjoyed a fire at the fire pit. I give this place an A.

Marine Corps Reunion

It was a great time. There was plenty of space for everyone and everyone had an amazing time. We had a power issue but the owner was out to fix it so no real problems other than waiting a few hours to take a shower. Great place!

Totally Relaxing!!!

I had no problems at all with the rental process, the house was as it was stated. It was clean and beds were comfortable, plenty of kitchen stuff for cooking. Loved the front porch, I guessing they are going to screen in the back porch the fans were awesome.

Did not want to leave!!

Beautifully situated on a private wooded lot of n a quiet farming community. Home was tastefully decorated for the season. Kitchen is large and well stocked with needed items to cook for a large group. We absolutely loved staying here!!

Perfect fir family gathering

We loved our stay. Perfect get away for all ages who like the outdoors and nighttime bonfires and s’more. We played softball and frisbee in the huge yard that was very well maintained! Very spacious and perfect for us and our family and our four legged friends!

Peaceful + Relaxing = Perfection

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was perfect and we enjoyed all the porches. Watching the blue birds and hummingbirds gave us hours of relaxing entertainment. We were lucky enough to see a doe and her two fawns in the back meadow. The house is well stocked, clean, and comfortable. Please Note: The location is easy to get to. However, when approaching from the south, Google maps is off by about 1 mile. We ended up reading the mailboxes to find the location.
