Family House in Lake District National Park

  • Llena de características de época, pero con comodidades modernas, esta casa de 250 años con su jardín privado es una base ideal para explorar el Distrito de los Lagos. Está en una calle principal pero muy tranquila en la parte de atrás. Tiene un toldo permanente que cubre el patio y protege los edificios si desea guardar bicicletas o kayaks. Hay un aparcamiento público cercano que los huéspedes deben utilizar. Puede acceder al jardín trasero directamente desde el aparcamiento a través de la puerta verde. El lado occidental del parque no está tan ocupado como otras partes, pero aún así es fácil llegar a Coniston, Windermere y Wast Water. El cercano Ravenglass tiene un ferrocarril en miniatura que lleva a los caminantes desde la costa hasta Eskdale Green y luego a Boot Station. Tanto Wasdale Head como Boot son buenos puntos para comenzar la escalada Scafell Pike, el pico más alto de Inglaterra.

Beautiful period property in qaint village.

Family of 7 2 adults a children aged 4 to 13, Easy check-in and out, excellent communication before we went, took us quite a while to find due to instructions to find a green gate which is now brown, house was nice and original plenty of space for everyone to sleep over 5 bedrooms.

We stopped here for 4 nights. The bedrooms were clean and fairly comfortable. There isn't much near by. 1 shop and 1 cafe in walking distance. But plenty of places within driving distance. Ravenglass and muncaster castle about a 15 minuute ride. Haverthwaite and lakeside are about 50 minutes away and very nice places to visit. The car park at the back of the property is good. We were a little disappointed with the outdoor bit as we felt unable to sit outside. Very good bath and shower. All in all a decent place as a base in the lakes.

Our Christmas in the lakes

Had a great long weekend at the property. Had loads of stuff there to use the kitchen to its full potential. Was lovely and warm and everyone had plenty of space in the accommodation. We were able to celebrate Christmas with my mum who is going to Guatemala next month and won’t be there. A few tiny tweaks will make this a perfect let but already great as it is.

Beautiful Bootle

Great house, dry, many big & airy common rooms & nice bedrooms 1st floor & attic, also covered dining table outside. Quite remote, shop & tea room (no bar) in village. Can walk out of door to Ravenglass or Eskdale, & return by train(s).

Hugh is very easy to communicate. We have all that we need although would benefit a new bed, I still managed to sleep well anyway, since I was really tired from all days activity.

Good area but no shop after 5pm

It is a very good area to live but house is very noisy.. Oven wasn't cleaned couldn't even use it had to drive 15 miles to get takeaway..No shops after 5pm you have to drive to Millom to buy anything. Not very comfortable bad couldn't sleep.. Good things it's close to some of the attractions..

250 year old house very quaint and extremely warm,, does require some updating re oven, microwave, sofas, Bathroom silicone, and 4 new mattresses needed, house is lovely and spacious, with only a short drive away to the beach and town you certainly need your own mode of transportation to venture around. We managed to explore the lakes, beach and some beautiful towns from here, there are also lots of walks and local beauty spots, the village itself doesn’t have anything in it only a cafe and village store but if your coming for a break away then a perfect base shut off from the world,, Hugh was great at communicating throughout the trip..

we had an amazing holiday. The house is spacious and cozy at the same time. its clean and had everything we needed, loads of fridge and freezer space and washing machine and dryer. spent plenty time and the big back garden. we stayed for a full week, and was able to go on trips within an hours drive. there is a big new play area, 2 min walk from the house near the store. its brilliant for age 3 and up. the store has everything you need and the cashier was very helpful, which is great bc even though you're in the country side you still have a good shop 60seconds away. we slept really well the beds are comfy.

It s perfect house to can enjoy your holliday, even if are only one couple or more people, it s CLEAN, WORM, they have everything to make you to feel like in your home. We stay 3 nights and hopefully i will be back soon and 100% i will choice them. Thank you!!
