Main Description Beach View Cottage is a self-contained ground floor apartment located near the harbour and just across the road from Minehead beach. This stone-built property with a large exposed beam in the living area gives some hints at the history of the building; it has recently been renovated throughout and tastefully furnished to offer a comfortable and relaxing stay for up to 4 guests.

The front door is at the side of the property, access is via a gated courtyard and there is one step plus the threshold to get inside. The door opens into a small hallway with space for hanging coats and stowing outside shoes. The living and dining areas are at the front of the property with windows looking out towards the coast. The kitchen is off the main living area. A hallway leads towards the rear of the property and bedrooms and the family bathroom, comprising a bath with shower over, toilet and hand basin. The double bedroom is at the far end of the hall has an en-suite, comprising a shower unit, toilet and hand basin.
Indoor Description The kitchen is well-equipped and includes an electric oven and hob, full size dishwasher, fridge-freezer (with chilled water dispenser), microwave, air-fryer, toaster and kettle. For coffee-lovers, there's a cafetiere, a moka pot and Nespresso coffee machine (and a starter selection of pods) provided. There is a good supply of cookware, crockery, glasses, cutlery and utensils.
The sitting room has a television mounted on the wall with Freesat, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. Beach View Cottage has central heating fitted throughout plus an electric 'wood-burner' in the living area for cosy evenings in.
An iron and ironing board are provided for your convenience, plus a hairdryer in each bedroom.
Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you outside of the cottage.
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate sugar, milk, biscuits, butter, fresh bread and locally sourced cake are provided to ensure you can have a hot drink and a bite to eat as soon as you arrive.
Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets will be present in the property. One or two toilet rolls will be provided per toilet.
Outdoor Description There is a courtyard area directly outside the property which provides access to front door, as well as the other properties off the courtyard (3 neighbours).
The beach is directly opposite, just across the road. There is a pet-friendly park and play-area approx 100 metres along the road. Minehead harbour is approx 150 metres in the opposite direction. The South West Coast Path starts a short distance down the road on Quay Street and runs along Quay West, before heading up onto the hills behind Minehead town.
Parking One parking permit will be provided to allow you to park without charge in the parking spaces opposite the property, or in the nearby car park. The permit will be left inside the cottage for you and can be used to park in any of the parking spaces along Quay West and Quay St in Minehead. Additional parking permits can be purchased from the owner.
Please note: When there is a storm, stones can be thrown up from the beach! These can be thrown half way across the road so we suggest that if a storm is forecast - leave extra cars down in the public car park by the Old Ship Aground pub. No EV charging available from the property. There are charge points located in the town.
Pets Description Two well-behaved dogs are welcome for £20 supplement each. Please do not allow your pets on the furniture or in the bedrooms and do not leave them alone in the property at any time. The section of the beach opposite the cottage is pet-friendly year-round, and there is a pet-friendly park and play area a short distance down the road.
Restricted mobility Beach View Cottage is all on the ground floor with level access throughout, so may be suitable for someone with limited mobility.

The region
Minehead is the largest town on the edge of Exmoor National Park, a welcoming seaside resort on the Somerset coast with stunning views across the Bristol Channel to Wales.
The town is best known as the starting point of the South West Coast Path, England's longest National Trail, which stretches 630 miles from the harbour here all the way to Poole Harbour in Dorset. A sculpture marking Mile Zero stands on the seafront near the old harbour. Minehead has been a working port since the 14th century, and the quay area retains much of its historic charm with narrow lanes and fishermen's cottages clustered at the foot of North Hill.
Higher Town, the oldest part of Minehead, sits on the slopes above the harbour and is home to the medieval Church of St Michael, reached by a steep footpath known as Church Steps that winds between thatched cottages with far-reaching views over the rooftops and out to sea. The Parade and The Avenue form the main shopping streets, where you will find independent shops, cafes, restaurants, and takeaways alongside everyday services. Tesco and Morrisons supermarkets are both on the outskirts of town with long opening hours, and there are banks, a Post Office, pharmacies, and petrol stations.
Blenheim Gardens, opened in 1925, provides six acres of green space in the centre of town with a bandstand, putting green, bowling green, and a pleasant cafe. The medieval village of Dunster, with its castle, yarn market, and tea rooms, is barely two miles away. Every May, Minehead's ancient Hobby Horse tradition brings colour and music to the streets -- a centuries-old celebration of the arrival of spring that is unique to this part of Somerset.
