I had a great stay. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. I arrived late and needed only a bed and shower. While I'm not normally a person who likes sharing a bathroom, I thought it was well run and I would definitely stay there again.

This was a fantastic property I'd stay at again. Some rooms are without bathroom, and are priced accordingly. Very clean, very well equipped and very friendly! Website photos do the property justice, it's just as beautiful in person.

The owner was incredibly friendly and helped accommodate our check in past the staffed hours of 4-6pm. Breakfast was ready at 9am which we had to unfortunately miss, but overall the hospitality was wonderful!

Just know that when you stay in the penthouse there are 4-5 rooms and only one bathroom to share with the other rooms. We did not know this when booking. I would not stay here again unless I had a private bathroom.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the New Victorian Mansion Bed & Breakfast in St. Paul, and I can't recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The room was incredibly comfortable — exactly the kind of place where you actually sleep well and wake up refreshed. And breakfast was a real highlight: fresh eggs straight from the property's own hens, cooked to perfection. You can genuinely taste the difference, and it made the morning feel special rather than just a checkbox amenity. The location is also a huge plus. We were just a short trip from great dining and entertainment options in St. Paul, which made the whole weekend feel effortless — a peaceful retreat to come back to after a fun night out. If you're looking for a charming, comfortable getaway in the Twin Cities area, look no further. Five stars without hesitation — we'll absolutely be back!

Very courteous staff. Comfortable bed. Roomy accommodations. I would call is shabby chic. But Victorian it is not. All the modern conveniences make it comfortable. But the decor is distinctly modern, including the art on the walls. Nice. Cheap. Shared bathroom in the sky view rooms. They ask you to strip the linens off your bed before you leave.

While the neighborhood is nice, I cannot recommend this place. As others have written before, they have a no-shoes policy in the house without providing slippers for guests. Though the Expedia listing mentions the same breakfast for all rooms, it only applies for the more expensive suites, not the standard rooms. There's no housekeeping - instead of B&B this might be listed as "make your own bed and cook your own breakfast". This might be fine if you book a hostel, but that's not what is advertised and paid for.

Flew in from Vancouver, near the 4-6pm check-in time. I reached out to the owner to notify them that my friend would check in for us. No response was given to that message or the previous message when I booked about requesting use of an outdoor space/firepit. Check-in went well for my friend, but she lost her phone on our way to dinner. She reached out to the owner via their business card phone number, asking if it was in the front lobby. No response. Once we returned late that night, we found her phone on an entry table where she had left it. Once in the room, my friend's bed frame broke. We laughed, because what else could go wrong? Unfortunately, we noticed this wasn't a first time break for this twin Ikea bed frame, as wood glue and screws were heavily present. Being 11:30pm and no previous responses from the owner we chose to drag the mattress to the floor and notify them in the morning. We notified the host of the bed frame before sitting down to breakfast. She apologized for the inconvenience and said she would notify the owner. We glanced over to see the giant bottle of wood glue on the counter and commented, “it looks like they may already know!” Breakfast was delicious and the other guests were kind and great conversationalists. Shared bathroom not the cleanest. Guests need separate towels. I reached out to the owner after checkout. They responded with, “I wish you would have notified us sooner.” Not the experience we were hoping for. Won't recommend.

There is a lot of potential for this B&B, but there were just a few too many details to be able to give more than a 5 rating for the room we stayed in. The host was pleasant and accommodating. The location is excellent, with many good restaurants in walking distance. The night was as quiet as one would expect being in a city of this size. Parking is on site and free, which is also a bonus. The price for the small top floor rooms is also a value, but should have been a bit of a yellow flag. The main building and shared areas are well maintained, clean and accommodating. There was also new carpet throughout the top floor we stayed on. Unfortunately, the positive items stop here. There are visible patch spots that have not been painted, the locks are loose in the doors (this is a major safety concern), the trim, there were visible hand prints on the windows. There does appear to be AC, but it did not do much in our room. There was a fan, but there are no screens on the windows in the room we stayed in, so a mosquito or two did find their way into the room...while we tried to cool off the room. Not great. The comforter/top cover was visibly grungy and went straight to the floor. There were also visible stains on the decorative pillows. The bed was OK, but not much more. Just be aware you are getting what you pay for here, and you'll be OK. I would definitely suggest upgrading to a larger lower level room for the summer months.

Excellent 5/5 stars! Not typically Bed and Breakfast - I dislike that kitsch. This elegant and quite private mini retreat had everything for a modern day female. WIFI, plush robes, heated floors, 500tc sheets and a breakfast that I truly enjoyed. Definitely will be visiting again!

Amazing service, amazing room! We got the cathedral room and the jetted tub was HUGE and amazing and had a shower for those who dont enjoy tubs or want to shower afterwards. The pillows were soft and fluffy and the Breakfast was thebBEST part of waking up!!! Would definitely rate this as a 11 out of 10

Room was nice. House was beautiful. Location very nice. We went on a Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Breakfast was on our own with some eggs, cheese and bread in the refrigerator. For us no prepared breakfast. You are asked to take your shoes off, and there are no slippers to put on. There are a lot of steps. We were in the two twin bedroom and it was a shared bathroom. Luckily for us on Tuesday night there was no one else. So we had it to ourselves. I am not sure which rooms have shared bathrooms but that was not clear to us at the time of the reservation on Expedia.
