If you are thinking about renting from them, STOP and read this first. You will see many reviews from Condo Owners who have Forever Vacation Rentals (FVR) manage their condo. Those are 5-star reviews. You will see 1-star reviews from people who rented one. I would suggest that you read not only the review, but also the response to them from FVR. If you have no complaints, then FVR is very friendly. If you have a complaint, then the tone turns accusatory towards you, the customer. In general, their wording is deceptive in nature and you need to be concerned more about the fine print and what they are not telling you. Many emails and talking to them will not solve your issue. They are very good at the techniques of smoothing something over and deflection.
You will get a lot of emails from them – I suggest you read all of the fine print in each one. All the “complimentary” activities that they offer are for one person only. One person in your party gets a free activity when you purchase more tickets for your group/spouse at the same price the activity advertises on their website. You can get that in any coupon book. Also, those activities may or may not be near where you are going to be vacationing. They may or may not be available during your vacation period. It looks like a nice selling point on the website, but is merely a coupon book that you can pick up anywhere.
We have never had any rental agency give us one roll of toilet paper for the group for a week. Their response to me was that they did state that they were only giving us a “starter kit” – one trash bag, no dish soap, 2 dishwasher soap, 1 washcloth, etc. But toilet paper? Seriously?
Read everything carefully. Their wording is deceptive. The answers on their FAQs do not blatantly lie, but are simply worded in a way that is deceiving if you do not read slowly and carefully. Deceptive marketing techniques…
The company states that it is important to them to do the right thing and to have the opportunity to make something right before you write a review. The fact is that this is good advertising, but they do not follow through on it. Everything is turned back on you, the customer, and your failings. I have rented a lot of vacation condos over the years, and this is the first time I have run into a company like this one. This condo was rented through VRBO and we did not know there was a third party management company involved until we rented it. Condo was great!
