Beautiful home and view. Home was clean and came with so many extras like dish soap, laundry detergent and dishwasher detergent. The cosmetic hand towels were an excellent touch. Our family enjoyed our day on the dock and our nights playing in the game room. Will definitely return. The neighborhood was quiet and calming for a relaxing break.

this property is really great. The location is close to town, but also lakefront. The dock is so nice, the cove is quiet, the neighborhood is really picturesque. You can't go wrong with this property. Just don't forget to sign up for linens, like I did. It worked out anyway, bc we just went and bought linens and took them home with us. We feel very at home there. Highly recommend this home for your next lake stay.

Very nice property it was perfect for a family of six. The picture of the front of the walk down to the deck is a bit deceiving because it was rather long and steep, Non-issue for kids and the younger adults, but for the parents got a little long by the end of the week but I guess it helped to keep our legs in shape.

This home is beautifully decorated and clean. The cove location is very peaceful. We all loved playing pool and ping pong in the game room. One of our dogs loved swimming in the lake. We rented a pontoon boat and had no problems navigating the cove and securing the boat to the floating dock, also really enjoyed the 2 provided kayaks. Communication from the host was prompt and informative. Be aware that you will have to drive your trash out to a dump about 5 minutes away....a little inconvenient but not a deal breaker, given how lovely this house and location are.

This is our 4th year visiting SML. We loved the house and location along the lake. It’s a very quiet cove. We loved having our dog be able to come on vacation with us. Very convenient location to run out and grab what you need. Plenty of space to hang out in the house, on the deck, and at the dock. My husband and I prefer a deeper cove to hang and float but the kids loved that they were able to touch the bottom. They were still able to jump off the dock. We had a great vacation here!

We stayed for a few days while attending our son’s graduation Virginia Tech and it was fantastic. Finally a home that matches the description! This house and location will it disappoint you! The host was also very response to messages leading up to our stay and a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend this house to anyone, we will certainly book again! Thank you!

We immediately felt at home in this lovely property. The owners were so accommodating and very quick to respond to any questions. The home was immaculate, everything was really thoughtfully done. The game room was such a nice addition to our lake days. The dock is amazing, the kayaks were so much fun. I took one out and just floated in the peaceful water, no fear of a boat speeding by and knocking me around. It was a little piece of heaven. Not enough nice things to say. Highly recommended and we would love to come back next year.

This house was extremely comfortable, in a great location and had everything we needed and more. There was tremendous attention to detail which made the house and property exceptionally cozy. The game room was perfect for our kids. We will absolutely stay here again.

Brown Dog Bluff was fabulous. Lovely and welcoming space inside and out. Airy and comfy throughout. The owners pay so much attention to every detail. We all loved the game room! The cove is perfect for floating and paddling, and also easy access to boat to lunch or dinner (our favorite), or hit Kroger and cook at home. We all had a really great time. I also loved that there was plenty of shade (including over the hammock!)

We have been renting houses at SML for over 25 years (time to buy, right?). I have to say that the location of this house is the best out of all of them! It is close to everything we needed: grocery store, boat rental and the marina for gassing up the boat. The house was tastefully decorated and comfortable with every appliance we needed. We enjoyed some of the games, puzzles, and game room, having a family ping pong tournament on our final night there. The kids thought it was great taking a shower outdoors. :) Holly was very thoughtful, accommodating and responsive. We would definitely stay here again.

Thank you Jeff and Holly for letting us stay in your home. It truly felt like home away from home. The home is in a great location for water activities or out on the town. Jeff and Holly go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and we love that we could bring our 8mo old golden retriever! Highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a getaway to SML!

Another perfect trip to this beautiful home on SML. It doesn’t get any better than this home, especially for our family with 2 sons and our pup. There is so much to do both in and out of the house, and the quiet lake cove is perfection. We can’t wait for our next visit!!

My family enjoyed our 1st trip to SML! I am glad we chose this house to stay at. It is apparent the owners take great pride in their property. The house is beautifully decorated and maintained. It is very easy to prepare food since the kitchen is stocked with everything you need. The golf course neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. We enjoyed the dock and the kayaks. We rented a boat from a nearby marina and it was easy to tie up to the floating dock. Holly provided a ton of information about local restaurants and things to do. My kids enjoyed the basement game room and all the other games she has stocked in the house. We are looking forward to our return visit! Thanks for your hospitality!

We rented this amazing property the week of our daughters wedding in Rocky Mount,Va. we had a lot to do prior to the wedding so we didn’t utilize the property to its fullest but it had everything and then some! It was so nice to arrive with the beds made and a welcome card with a few snacks from the owner. We can’t say enough good things about Brown Dogs Bluff! If you are looking for nice clean quiet vacation house this is the one for you! Would absolutely stay here again

We were in town for a Liberty University graduation with lots of activities so it was nice to retreat back to this amazing property where we had everything we needed provide for us, Comfortable and beautiful accommodations and decorations. We loved the game room!!! I have been in the hotel industry for many years, I have a little higher expectations and this property met them all! Thank you Holly, for sharing your home with us, we will be back! We enjoyed the deck, the dock, kayaking and jet skiing on the lake, (we brought our own jetski). We felt like we were at our own family lake house. God Bless you and your continued success.

Perfect in EVERY way! From the gorgeous golf club community, to the circular driveway with plenty of parking, to the beautifully decorated home, to the welcome tray of tasty pastries, to the lovely landscaping and paved walkway to the LAKE, to the kayaks and adirondack chairs and covered patio table and seating, to the hammock, to the GAME ROOM, to the well-stocked kitchen, to the cavernous master bath and closet, to the first aid kit! Perfect in EVERY way!
