We had a fantastic stay! The house is well equipped with clear directions and everything in the kitchen is well maintained and labeled. The host team was easy to work with and had clear check out instructions. Great dock and view of the lake. Awesome stay!

A wonderful place for families. The home is tastefully decorated and spacious. One of my favorite docks on the lake. We would definitely recommend staying here even if it is a bit pricey! Well worth it!

Birthday Celebration

We were looking for a place to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday with our family. SML has been a gathering place for us on and off for over a decade now and this house accommodated 8 of us beautifully. Three floors, 5 bedrooms, two living rooms, a game room, large eat-in kitchen with seating for 11.The dock is amazing with plenty of room for everyone to lounge and stay out of (or in the sun). They provide plenty of life jackets and two kayaks and two paddle boards.We always bring our own floaties and a couple of paddle boards so we had plenty of water toys for all of us.We had a really nice week even with a coupleof dreary days.Thank you, Stacy and Marie for your hospitality!

Amazing is all we have to say! The perfect location for our family vacation. Nothing beats the views and ability to walk down to the lake to jump in and swim, paddleboard, kayak and fish. Plenty of space for kids to play indoors or outdoors, plenty of places for relaxing. Even some nice hills for moms’ morning walks, with quite a few deer sitings! Owners very responsive, house clean. 100% recommend!

We chose this property for our family vacation based on the reviews and the home's description—but even those couldn’t capture just how special it truly is. Nestled on the shores of Smith Mountain Lake, this home is a little slice of heaven. From the thoughtfully stocked kitchen to the inviting dock, every detail exceeded our expectations. The quiet cove offers a feeling of peaceful seclusion, yet you're just a short boat ride away from mini golf, restaurants, and shopping—truly the best of both worlds.Our days were filled with laughter as we jumped off the dock into the lake, and our evenings were spent making memories in the game room. This house was everything we hoped for and more. We're already crossing our fingers that it's available again next year—because we can't wait to return to this perfect getaway.

We had a wonderful stay at this home. The dock was awesome and well stocked with all kinds of toys for the kids to play on. The house itself was very clean and well stocked. I particularly appreciated the kitchen that had everything that you needed as far as utensils dinnerware, glassware and pots and pans, etc. The property is quite steep. So if you have trouble handling stairs, it's probably not the property for you. Our family will definitely consider renting this property again. Thank you so much for the attention that you put into this property and management.

The Dock is everything... The house was more than sufficient for all our needs, clean and comfortable everything! We loved the location on the lake and the dock life was just perfect. All of our waking hours were spent outside. The driveway is a little tricky to navigate - but we figured it out. (Severe grade into the garage - particularly hard for our bikers to ride out - but who doesn't love a challenge ;). THANK YOU!

Outstanding property and location

This property had great space beautifully furnished and decorated. The house was full of thoughtful furnishings with a well stocked kitchen. There were starter supplies of the important things like toilet paper, paper towels, dishwashing detergent, soaps, shampoos, and even some pods for washing machine. The light switches were carefully and neatly labeled. The instructions for check in, WiFi, and check out were clear. The instructions for using the kayaks, hot tub, paddle boards and fire pits were likewise very easy to find and clear. The dock offers superb outside space for lounging and swimming. I can’t say enough about this property and the owners/managers. I have stayed in a lot of VRBOs and this ranks with my top stays in terms of the quality of the property/locations/communications/instructions and attention to tons of small details. We would come back!!

Perfect Lake House!!

We loved our stay. Place was clean and accommodating. Dock house was great for the boat that we brought. Kids had a great time swimming in the lake at the dock, as did the adults. Will definitely coming back here in the future!

Driftwood Experience

This is an amazing house that is perfect for a family or group that is looking for the best SML experience. The house is well laid out and outfitted for a great home like experience. The dock is absolutely the best with amazing views and all the comforts anyone would want to experience. Our family and guest spent as much time as possible enjoying the lake life from the awesome dock. A must for anyone looking for the best lake experience.

Absolutely fabulous property

This was a wonderful property for our annual lake vacation. The property was very clean and well maintained, and the host were very responsive into our needs. The dock and outdoor areas were spectacular. The kitchen was very well stocked and had everything we needed for the week. We will definitely stay at this property again.

Amazing Spot

Beautiful views of the quiet cove from the house, deck, and dock. We had 4 adults and 4 kids stay during this trip and everyone had a great time. The house was immaculate and very, very clean. Had everything we needed for cooking and gilling. We were pleasantly surprised by house nice the dock was. Plenty of shade and plenty of water depth made swimming by the dock our staple for the trip. Very comfortable dock furniture, fridge, and card tables made it a very nice entertaining spot. We took advantage of the paddleboards and kayaks provided, which were all in great condition, for paddles around the nearby coves. We ended up renting a boat from a nearby marina and enjoyed the close proximity to the Bridge and to Drifters. I can't think of any major negatives to note about the place. It exceeded our expectations and we will definitely return.

Our favorite stay at SML yet!

The house is inviting and charming and has been beautifully updated with new furnishing and comfortable beds, linens and plush towels. The deck is the perfect place for coffee in the morning with the water view and the dock is amazing with its perfect location in the back of the cove for relaxing and the kids to jump and swim. The floating dock is a little short but fine for even a pontoon and the owners are lovely and very responsive even on a holiday. We will definitely be back!

Big hit for a big family

This home was a perfect spot for our large family of eight (adult daughter and fiancé, three teen sons and a six year old son) The home is immaculately clean and on a quiet cove close to many destinations in the area. We found the interior of the home even better than the photographs. The furnishings are well styled and comfortable. The sweet aroma of gardenia greets you as you enter and exit the covered dock with bar. The dock is absolutely exquisite for a place to lounge, play, and launch a day’s worth of activities on the lake. We enjoyed swimming off of the dock, kayaking, paddle boarding, reading, and launching our boat for ski runs, tubing, and exploring the lake. We also observed wildlife from the dock. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to utilize the kayaks and paddle boards during our stay. The teenagers enjoyed the ping pong and foosball tables on the lower floor. There was plenty of space for all of us to spread out and be together. The game room is well stocked with games, but we had perfect weather and didn’t even have a chance to utilize it. Stacy + Marie were very responsive and wonderful hosts during our entire stay. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer.

Amazing place on water

We had an amazing time at Smith Mountain Lake at this property. The property was clean, right on the water and had great space to enjoy the lake with a spacious dock at the end of a cove. We also used the dock to keep my bass boat in the water over the weekend! Communication with the property manager was excellent and would refer this place to anyone.
