The Loft at River's Edge is a beautiful, spacious vacation rental that is ideal for two adults, as advertised. It is a very bright & airy open-concept style loft apartment with a bedroom area and common space, and the second, full-sized bed is in an alcove. We occasionally make an exception and allow a couple to bring a child or two but the space is more conducive to adults. There are some safety issues on the property including the powerful river which sometimes has a strong current, easy access to our kayaks and canoes, two sets of stairs to the loft, and the hot tub (children are not permitted to use for safety reasons.) We make exceptions on an individual basis as to whether to allow a family to stay here, depending on their needs and the age of the children. We hope this additional information is helpful for guests considering staying here with their children.

We are happy to offer such a spacious, clean accommodation that has just outstanding views of the Connecticut River and surrounding local mountains. Offering kayaks and canoes free of charge to our guests is something special we offer on this outstanding waterfront property. We especially love hearing that our guests plan to return and it's fun getting to know them a bit because they do!

We're so glad our guests love this immaculate accommodation. And, yes, it can be tricky locating the rental unless our guests use the detailed directions we send to them. Oftentimes, travel devices and even using GPS won't be as effective as our travel directions once in the town of Monroe.

We are so delighted when our guests are happy! We want our guests to enjoy this beautiful place and have a wonderful opportunity to relax on their getaway vacation. Our dogs love greeting our guests if they enjoy dogs, otherwise, we keep them at a distance. This has been a big fishing year on the river and it's been fun to see how many different fish out guests have been pulling out of the river. We love to see our guests return and enjoy this place from year to year!!

The Loft at River's Edge is a spacious, quiet, bright apartment with incredible views of the river that is accessed by one of two sets of stairs. It is very nicely separated from the main house and there are no common walls between the two areas. In fact, there is "air space" between the loft/garage and the main home, making it a very quiet place to stay. The 960 s.f. Loft is over a "storage only" two car garage which is not used to house vehicles, even in the winter. Since we as owners are very sensitive about providing as quiet an accommodation as possible, we don't enter or use the garage (unless absolutely necessary) when guests are staying on the property. Guests do have a private fire pit area with chairs, picnic table/umbrella and gas grill to use exclusively, which is completely private from the rest of the property. The Loft does not have it's own deck for guests to use at this time. Future plans for the Loft include building a deck off of the Loft that will provide excellent views of the river and even adding a hot tub for our guests to use. If guests are looking for a secluded, off-the-grid private cabin up on a mountain with incredible views, we recommend our "Secluded Mountain Cabin on 24 Acres with Big Views" which is casually decorated and rustic feeling with a woodburning stove as a source of heat. We also have a very quiet, private 5 acre property in Benton, NH that has a big, beautiful, spacious, casually decorated RV and incredible White Mountain Views called "Private White Mountain RV Camping with Big Views." All of our properties properties have very little traffic and people sounds but rather more nature sounds. The Loft at River's Edge and Private RV Camping at River's Edge are both located at the very end of a private right of way, with 1000 ft of frontage on the Connecticut River. Three "older" adults live in the main house at The River's Edge property along with two young standard poodles, who are only permitted to greet guests who like dogs and want to meet them. Guests' privacy is respected and they are free to roam the property and use the canoes and kayaks free of charge. We're very happy that so many guests have had an incredible opportunity to simply relax and enjoy this incredible 6.5 acre waterfront property and leave refreshed when they return to their busy lives.

We apologize for the internet troubles during your stay here at the Loft. Our internet provider reported to us that repairs needed to be made to some of the lines in the neighborhood close to our home and this was the reason for our intermittent internet connection!! Trust me, it was very frustrating for all of us. Thankfully, the lines have now been repaired and our internet service has been dependable and speedy since then! As far as the foliage is concerned, many factors impact how vibrant the leaves will be in the fall (temperature/rain) and when the color will be at its peak. We're sorry you missed the "peak" foliage season but hopefully, you'll be able to return to Northern New England some time again in the future and hit it just right!!
