“I cannot say enough good things about this inn. It was everything we imagined. There was a person waiting to greet us when we got there (which, honestly, we had never imagined). The meals -- we had a dinner and a breakfast -- were the best and also the fanciest we had while in Japan, full stop. We were completely floored at the care taken for every little detail during our stay. It feels nicely out-of-the-way once you get there, but it is not hard to get to at all. “Despite being a foreigner in a commonly Japanese space, I was treated with the utmost care and respect. Being able to sample multiple variations of green tea (leaps and bounds more complex than any I had tasted back home) while looking out across the lake was an unforgettable experience. I wish I had stayed an extra night so I could experience a few more of the available services, but I did manage to purchase some tea leaves and orange juice for the journey. A top nitch experience all around.”

“What a great view from the hotel! Free shuttle bus between train station and hotel. Great keiseki dinner and a good selection of buffet breakfast. We had a private onsen in our room, and it was great. You can even set the temperature you want yourself. There is no shops near the hotel, but there is a shop in the hotel itself which sells the basics, so no complaints.”
