“I loved this place. When I go to England, I enjoy these smaller, transformed hotels much more than bigger ones and Hand and Spear has been the best. The room I got was spacious with ample wardrobe space and beautiful decor. The bath was insane with a beautiful claw foot tub. I’m very self-sufficient when I travel so I don’t expect a room made up each day but I’m sure they would accommodate you and they quickly brought extra towels when I asked. The thing is…my room had food and a little fridge...

“I really would not recommend staying here. The hotel is in a great spot for the museum and Mercedes world but the hotel itself looks like it was designed by the premier inn team on their day off. We stayed for two nights in a deluxe room, as it’s an ‘eco’ hotel the room wasn’t turned down. I was charged 15 to check in early and 28 to park. We had two fairly dreadful pizzas from room service for 45. The WiFi was not great and the limited view of the track from the room consisted of people slowly...

“Very nice place is comfortable”

“Sadly, a good experience during the stay became uncomfortable when they accused me of damaging the kettle in my room, they accused me of having used it with milk, which is incorrect and I categorically deny it, I used the kettle properly with water for coffee and tea, on the other hand, they found milk in a cup because I ate cereal but with cold milk, at no time did I use the kettle to heat milk. I don't care about the £20 they charged me, but I do care to make it clear that it was a false...

“The manager, Matt, was especially helpful & friendly. Check in was quick and welcoming. Had 2 Queen bedroom on top floor overlooking the Thames. Room was very nicely decorated, has 3 mirrors, beds excellent, lots of room. Walk in shower and bathroom good size. Many large, beautifully decorated rooms to eat in and a large patio on the river front. Lots of entertainment by the various birds on the river. By far the best hotel we've stayed in for years.”

“Edwina was a welcoming host! Nothing was too much trouble! Made sure we always had what we need! Accommodating our American car! Fabulous fresh cooked breakfast! Room was lovely which was cleaned daily. The best shower pressure! Tea coffee, water and juice in the room. Great location, walking distance to Esher town centre and the Racetrack! “Bar staff were not very helpful when checking in and left me waiting for the manager for 15 minutes and was ignoring me and non-responsive when I would ask what the delay is. Other than that the experience was fantastic, the room was lovely, the restaurant was lovely, can’t complain. Just the check in experience left a slight sour taste.”

“This airport hotel is very conveniently located for both arrivals and departures, making it an excellent option when traveling through London. The room was comfortable, and the staff was very kind and welcoming. We especially appreciated that they allowed us an early check-in, as we were coming from a very long flight and needed to rest before our flight the next day — that made a big difference for us. The common areas are also very pretty and well maintained, creating a pleasant overall...

“Hotel is unique and lovely beside the river with amazing views, good bar with reasonable prices. We had a room in the annexe- room was quite small but added bonus of an outdoor seating area. But we struggled with the door entry last night- couldn’t get it open. Phoned reception- no answer, it was about 11.30pm. Found someone in the bar who helped to open the door- needed a heavy push to get in. Would have appreciated better and quicker support with this problem. Stairs everywhere so not good for...
