“The room was clean and a good size, comfortable beds and good air conditioning. I thought it could do with a couple of comfortable chairs and the remote didn’t work for the TV probably only needed new batteries”

“Beautiful architecture from the 1920s when Parliament House opened in 1927. Restored to perfection. All the staff were migrants and all outstandingly polite friendly and helpful and I loved Pixel the Labrador the ex sniffer dog who lives with the General Manager I believe It’s an elegant statement of a bygone era and well managed. It’s a credit to everyone from front staff to the GM Well done”

“I was assigned a room right next to the sliding door. I could hear the noise from the sliding door that opens and closes very often when people were coming in and out. I then asked for a room change. The new room was much better. However, when I checked out five days later, I was given a bill of $30 with a lunch charged to my old room. I remember that I never had that lunch. I only had breakfasts there.”

“Room was great but we were unable to connect to the TV to connect to streaming services. Most hotels these days have either a smart TV with this option or Foxtel channels. This is a perfect option for those cold nights in winter in Canberra.”

“The hotel is modern, clean, and well-equipped. Breakfast was very good. There's not much within a walking distance of the hotel. Something we hadn't appreciated was that there is no free parking available on site. You can either pay to park or attempt to find street parking nearby. We chose the latter and were fortunate to find a spot within 200m or so. But the hotel didn't seem busy at the time so my guess is parking may be at a premium other times. Overall, a good hotel.”

“Second stay just as good as the first. Friendly helpful staff. The in house restaurants and bar are all terrific. Most striking and welcoming is the decor: mid century styles in jewel colours making the rooms and lobby feel warm and welcoming in th midst of a Canberra winter.”

“Good location but wouldn't stay again. Photos through Expedia must have been taken when the property was refurbished many years ago because the reality was a very tired hotel. Chips in the joinery, no exhaust fan extremely average small TV that was problematic to operate. Dirty carpet. No parking aside from pay-to-park council parking. Free overnight but limited to four hours between 8.30 and 5.30. No block out blinds. Terrible AC. Really noisy and a horrible screech from the water system...

“There was no light in the first part of the bathroom with basin. The door to the main part of the bathroom creaked abominable.”

“Buena opción en Canberra. Habitaciones amplias, cómodas y silenciosas. Cada día que no pides renovar las toallas te dan 10$ australianos para canjear en el restaurante anexo al propio hotel. Creo que deberían reembolsarlo como opción si no quieres consumir en ese restaurante. Saludos. ”

“The free breakfast was terrible, ran out of food after 10mins and no plates cups or cutlery either, waited 15mins for a clean coffee cup just so I could make a hot drink. Service was terrible from the manager. Room was clean however the window in the room had no rubber seal around it so was dangerous if you had young children staying with you. The bathroom was so tiny you couldn't even sit on the toilet without hitting your knees on the vanity.i would say it is definitely not 4 stars more like 2...

“El apartamento que nos asignaron era muy ruidoso y nos cambiaron a una habitación muy amplia y agradable pero no hicieron la limpieza antes de que entráramos todos los muebles llenos de polvo, la terraza con telarañas, vajilla sucia y restos de comida usada en el congelador, al día siguiente tampoco hicieron limpieza y cuando llegaron a darnos toallas limpias, solo se llevaron la basura.”
