  • Welcome to the Owl, where every effort has been made to make your stay a pleasure. Within minutes walk to the Rail Trail or Wallkill River boat launch. Ski Windham or Hunter, both just an hour away. This enviable spot is a countrylike setting yet 2 minutes by car puts you in the heart of the village of New Paltz where you will find numerous boutique shops and delightful eateries. Stay in and prepare a meal in your nicely equipped kitchen or cook on the grill and dine on the private patio.

    You will have the private access to the apartment which is in a walk-in basement. The host with the family live upstairs.

Graduation weekend

Fantastic property and gracious hospitality. The hosts were friendly and kind. The location is quiet and peaceful, tucked only a few minutes from the busy town. Immaculate and well appointed. Walkable to the beautiful trails. We would highly recommend this getaway spot.

We really enjoyed our stay, the description is well said, it truly is a sweet spot on the outskirts of town. Just minutes away, it felt quiet and cozy. The rooms were neat as a pin and cheery, the kitchen was well stocked, we had plenty of room to relax and the bed was very comfortable. Our hosts were very welcoming and easy to reach, but also gave us privacy, having our own entrance. The walking trail so close by was nice too. Definitely a 10 out of 10!! Thanks for having us.

Welcoming and Central

This is a great spot for parents visiting their kids at SUNY New Paltz. It's close to campus, downtown and biking/walking trails. Kitchen is well-stocked for those who like to cook and the space is very cozy.

Love this place... very impressed! They will be my first viewing next return. Both Nicholas & Olga go above & beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. They greeted us upon arrival & helped with luggage. Place was clean!!

Perfect studio in the Gunks

I stayed here with a friend during a local race. The location to town and Mohonk were great. Our host was great with communication and provided all the essentials you’d have in the comfort of your own home. I’d definitely return for another stay.

A wonderful space in a great location!

This is a beautiful, well-appointed apartment located a short a lovely walk from downtown. The place is clean and comfortable. Olga and Nicholas are the perfect hosts: completely unobtrusive, quickly responsive to any needs/requests, and very hospitable. A great vibe all around!

The space is very comfortable. Being a fan of owls I enjoyed the theme. Loved the walk to town. Quality and taste quite nice.

The Owl was a perfect choice for our weekend wedding adventure in New Paltz. It was a surprisingly spacious studio that was well decorated and charming. We appreciated the small touches and kindness of the hosts. They were very attentive and thoughtful. It had fairly well stocked kitchen of spices, coffees, teas and some cooking equipment as well as a Brita filter. It was as advertised and more. Also fun to see the neighbor cow :)

Terrific property. I highly recommend staying here.

The apartment was very clean, well appointed, and comfortable. The location was terrific, with close proximity to walking/biking trails and to town. The host was very accommodating and responsive. I would highly recommend staying here. I plan to come back myself, on my next visit to New York.

Cozy, well appointed apartment

My husband and I stayed in this apartment for three nights and two days while we explored the beautiful outdoors of New Paltz. We enjoyed the place so much that we canceled a future reservation that we had at a different location and booked this one again! This apartment has everything that you need. Beautiful, quiet neighborhood in a convenient location close to town.

We had a great 2 night stay here. The property was extremely clean, quiet and great location. Barely heard owners upstairs. An easy .5 mile walk to downtown, .2 miles on a quiet road and you link up to the rail trail. Easy 15-20 minute drive from Minnewaska State Park and under that for Mohonk Preserve. We didn't utalize the kitchen or grill, but appeared to have everything needed if you do. Bed was a little on the soft side but comfortable. We would stay absolutely again if in the area.

Beautiful studio apartment

The apartment was lovely! It felt very spacious, and it had everything we needed. Beautifully decorated and clean. The location is ideal and within walking distance of downtown. Olga and Nikolas were so kind and helpful and very responsive to any messages or questions.

Exactly what we needed!

The Owl is a lovely apartment and it was clear that Olga and Nicholas put thought into what they included in the space. It's a very quiet and private area, and a very quick drive into downtown New Paltz. If the weather was warmer, it would've been an easy bike ride! We'd definitely stay here again.
