“Rye is amazingly British. With its cobbled streets to its quaint pubs. The Ship is a great hotel to stay at and to have a drink.”

“Esta muy apartado del centro. Pero al lado de la estación de St Leonard Warrior. Una zona no muy buena. El hotel es más como una pensión. Aparentemente parece que está bien. Pero luego una vez allí se nota la falta de mantenimiento y personal. La habitación normal. El agua de la ducha sin presión. La cama bien. La tele no funcionaba bien. Tiene un patio muy mono. El desayuno normal. Lo mejor sin duda el recepcionista Francisco, como no, español. Muy caro para lo que es. No repetiría. ”

“Lovely little pub hotel, cute rooms and the nice side door to reach the rooms so you don’t have to walk through the pub. Breakfast was lovely, free parking for guests, All in all a really lovely stay, we will definitely stay again. ”

“Agradable estancia y excelente servicio. Como nota negativa decir que las ventanas del hotel no estaban bien aisladas, al coincidir con unos dias de mucho viento entraba mucho frio en la habitación ademas del ruido.”

“Love this place, gorgeous rooms, all with incredibly comfortable beds, luxurious bed linen and toiletries. Breakfast is outstanding. This place is an absolute gem in a perfect location. Honestly I cannot rate it highly enough.”

“Generous room with a direct door onto the courtyard which I liked. Room was clean although the building was showing some signs of age. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the small menu was all very tasty. Other good pubs in the village for a change of scenery but good beer and camaraderie in the Rose and Crown.”

“Lovely cosy stay - especially when it was so cold outside! The breakfast was lovely especially the homemade granola. The hosts were super communicative and helpful and came out of their way to say hello when we arrived ”

“Very nice to find fresh milk in the fridge, thank you! Nice clean, quiet room with comfy bed. The only criticism is that the hot water supply was scalding. Dangerously hot, although there is a warning sign. Didn’t risk using the shower in case I couldn’t control the temperature so I managed without. Otherwise fine, thank you. ”

“Our room was very nice with a comfy bed, ensuite bathroom, tea & coffee and a little fridge. Breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious. A really good base for a weekend in Hastings with the added bonus of free parking and friendly hosts.”

“Nice two nights stay in a very good location. I especially loved the bathroom as it was spacious and with a view to the East Hill. The stairs are tricky if you have a large suitcase, but I got wonderful service and mine was taken down for me. There are a lot of restaurants to choose from within 500 m. The buses to the railway station run 200 m from the door so that’s also nice. ”

“Such a peaceful place. The owners were delightful. The property is at the very top of a hill and the drive is very narrow with parking on both sides. A real skills test of your driving. But the stay is worth it. Breakfast by a panoramic window looking down on the city was great. Large split bathroom with spa type shower was the greatest luxury of the room. Would stay there again.”
