My experience with this VRBO stay was a nightmare defined by predatory behavior and scams. I booked on March 13th for a stay from April 3rd–5th. Although the refund deadline was March 27th, the host (Roy) waited until March 30th to demand photos of my ID, my credit card, plus an additional contract. None of this was in the listing. He refused to budge, clearly trying to bait me into canceling so he could keep my money.When VRBO investigated, I saw Roy’s response: he tried to claim I was responsible for a chargeback from February 27th—weeks before I even booked the place. He was blatantly lying to the platform to justify his demands.The physical stay was just as bad. The house was much smaller than the photos suggested and it was dirty. To make matters worse, throughout Friday and Saturday, Roy repeatedly harassed us, threatening to call the police and telling us we had 30 minutes to pack up and get out just to scare us. He breached our contract, misrepresented his property, and used intimidation tactics to scam me. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had. There’s much more to say about this person but the character limit won’t allow me to do so. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS PERSON!
