- Designed for large groups & families, our cabin on 13 wooded acres offers a restful retreat to launch your next U.P. adventure. Explore the scenic wonders of the eastern Upper Peninsula — from Pictured Rocks to Tahquamenon Falls — all an hour or less from this central location. Enjoy a true U.P. experience in our rustic, wood-fired sauna. Then make lasting memories around the fire, playing games or doing puzzles together at this cozy cabin. Come visit Further Up North.
This is a UP cabin, so expect to possibly have some of the rustic experiences of a cabin. We professionally treat for bugs and pests but sometimes seasonally they still make an appearance.

The cabin was great- there was plenty of space for us to be together and to spread out. We enjoyed the sauna, and the kitchen was nicely equipped. The ping pong table was fun.

Enjoyed a family vacation with friends in the UP, good location. Close to the falls, newberry, and some other boat launches. Very fun time!

Great house and experience. Extremely easy to coordinate with and tons of space for our family. Centrally located to what we wanted to do and easy to feel comfortable and relaxed in the setting.Highly recommend!

Everything was very clean. Kitchen had all utensils we needed to make several meals. We had 6 adults and 3 kids ages 2-7, and there was plenty of room for all of us.

Great place!
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is exactly as described. It was perfect for our family of 4 with lots of space to spread out. The location was very central to everything we wanted to see. Would book this home again when visiting the UP.

We enjoyed our stay at this “Up North” cabin. The decor was just what you’d expect plus a generous amount of throw blankets for the chilly nights we experienced. The cabin is appointed with local travel guides if you haven’t preplanned your excursions. The kitchen with a dishwasher was appointed with everything we needed. The sauna was fun and easy to figure out. The porch had 2 swing chairs which our children loved. We didn’t get to use the fire pit because of rain but it was there to use if the weather is right. I should mention that the outdoor activities come complete with mosquitoes. You are in the woods and you are in the UP so that is to be expected. Newberry is a nice little town with a wonderful IGA grocery store and nice restaurant. Be sure to check out the White Perch Dinner!Given the opportunity, we’d go back again. We were a group of 6 adults and 4 children and the cabin accommodated us comfortably.

Brought our granchildren from North Carolina to see the U.P. Saw Soo Locks, Tahquamenon Falls,Miners Falls, Pictured Rocks, Seul Choix Pointe Lighthouse, water tower in manistique & fish Hatchery,Kitch-iti-kipi, & Oswalds Bear Ranch we loved the sauna & bonfires & family time!

Great Place to Stay
The location was great. Secluded, yet not far from town. Newberry was not far away at all. The beds were very comfortable. The cabin was very user-friendly everything was easy to find. We enjoyed the fire pit in the back yard. Overall we had a very good time and would definitely go back.

Authentic VRBOs are the BEST VRBOs!
Our group loved our stay @ the Newberry UP Retreat! The house was cozy, comfortable and perfectly located for attractions we wanted to visit in the UP. We appreciated the history this house shared with us... and it is sooo quiet. This house made our trip to the UP a notch better-- thanks for keeping the character of the house, but updating it to accommodate the 7 of us.

Great stay
House is great with two living areas, great sleeping areas, sauna is fun. Plenty of parking. First day we road 2 miles west in CR to trail. Second day trailered 15 miles to trail head north of mcmillian. Two full baths.
