Plum Island Guest Cottage With Water View

  • Come stay at my quiet and tranquil Guest cottage. This unique House is on a dead end street located on the west side of Plum Island Basin. The cottage is located in a small wooded area overlooking the basin and my home with pristine gardens. Plum Island is a unique place with some of the best beaches in New England. It's Just steps away from the a tidal basin, enjoy watching the tide come in and out twice a day. Bring your Kayak for two 6 hour windows of High tide. Awesome Paddle Boarding location! Breath in the cool salt air breeze. It's a small house with a big feel. Vaulted ceilings all around. A nice size open kitchen, with everything you need and a Gorgeous Cherry Wood bar. Seating comfortable for four people. Washer and dryer. Queen Size Bed with a walk in closet. The bedroom is open concept with no door (Similar to a hotel suit). There is a queen pullout bed in the living room. Bamboo flooring. There is an HDTV and a stereo. Wifi provided. You can drive a few miles into beautiful downtown Newburyport where there are many great restaurants, bars and shopping. Just one Mile south is a 9 mile long National Wildlife Reservation with gorgeous beaches and boardwalk trails. Beyond that is State owned Sandy Point Beach overlooking Cranes Castle. This beach is stunning as well ! Plum Island beaches are about a ten minute walk away. Bring your bike for some fantastic biking. You won't want to leave. It is truly a special place.

This little cottage was the perfect place for me, my wife, and our 7 month old puppy for a week in July! On the quieter side of Plum island which was great to walk our dog around and explore. Still within walking distance or a 2 minute drive to all the beach access or restaurants. The house came equipped with a well stocked kitchen, a grill, and a spacious layout that was perfect for chilling after the beach. Steve was also a great host who communicated well ahead of check in and was available if we had any questions or anything. Will be staying again next year!

Took my 90 year old mom and daughter here to celebrate mom's birthday in her hometown . The cottage was great. Very good lay out. Loved the nice big breakfast bar. Steve, our host was even kind enough to add 2 more stools so all 3 of us could sit down. Cottage was super close to Plum Island, restaurants etc. Steve was always right there to help with anything we needed. Fixed an issue with the TV remote immediately! Nothing but praise Steve and the cottage!

Quiet, comfortable and enjoyable.

Great place to relax. Enjoyed the beaches and the wildlife refuge. Appreciated all the nice touches throughout, but especially in the kitchen, great dishes, glassware, etc. Steve was a great host!

Plum Island

The guest cottage is very comfortable and Steve is a wonderful host. The location is perfect to enjoy the entire island, Newburyport, and the surrounding shore line - including, most of all, Parker River National Wildlife Refuge - absolutely incredible experience !

Steve is an exceptional host. The cottage is clean and has a nice, open, airy feel. We had all the amenities we needed. Steve has a nice attention to detail, stocking all necessary items for a pleasant and comfortable stay. It is a quiet and friendly neighborhood in a nice area.

Quaint Cottage by the Sea

My husband, dog, and I enjoyed our peaceful week at Steve’s cottage. We loved starting our day drinking coffee on the Adirondack chairs on the front porch listening to the birds. The location was perfect, close to downtown Newburyport and the beach. We had a comfortable stay and Steve is a great host. Be sure to watch the sunset from The Sunset Club at the end of the road and get breakfast from Mad Martha’s.

Wonderful little cottage for 2 people. Great neighborhood. Dead end street quiet and safe for dog. Host was very friendly and accommodating. Walking distance to Plum Island center (restaurant/bars, groceries, ice cream shop, fishing tackle, clothing). Very near beautiful beach at Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. 10 minute drive to Newburyport ... lots to do.

Plum Island Gem

Steve's house is just lovely. Wonderful location on Plum Island, and all the essentials for a wonderful stay. We couldn't have wished for a better week, or better lodgings. And we both felt that we'd known Steve for years, even though we'd just met.

Plum Island magic

Even though we had some rain, Steve’s little slice of Plum Island heaven was warm and cozy! Great location, lotsa places to walk to, and easy to drive to other great spots. The guest house might feel small to some, but we had two adult women and a dog and never felt claustrophobic. Steve was great, available if needed, but still gave us our privacy. The entire time was simply magical!

We really enjoyed staying on Plum Island. The cottage was as described, a small cottage with a big feel, and had everything we needed, except or maybe a lobster pot !! It was more than welcoming for the 2 of us, and our 2 Beagles ! We had a super hot week for June, but the mornings spent on the porch sipping coffee with the fur babies watching the tidal basin empty and fill was amazing to see ! The neighbors were so friendly, as well as everyone we met. We enjoyed some lobsters at Bobs Lobster, and the Pizza factory right down the street has some really tasty food too, Highly recommend !! We had a lovely ride up the coast into Connecticut, and went to Rye Harbor, where we tried some something called fluffy Chowder, which they are known for, and some lobster rolls too. Worth the trip just for the drive alone !! Steve is a great host !! He lives right there, and is helpful when needed ! The nearby towns are easy to get to, and many places to explore if you want to do that. Mother Nature made it a bit too hot for us to do some things we may have wanted to do, but that's ok ! It was a great trip and we would visit again ! We missed the Nature Preserve, but maybe next time !

Though the weather wasn't the greatest and the fish didn't bite as hard as we'd hoped, it was a great cottage, a great host & friendly neighbors. Plum Island is a gem! Would definitely consider booking again! Thanks Steve!!

Great Plum Island retreat!

My husband and I spent a week at this lovely cottage on Plum Island. Steve supplied everything that was promised and everything we needed to make our stay perfect. The location of the cottage is just right… close to the natural beauty of Plum Island and very close to Newburyport with its many shops and great restaurants. It is also located within an hours drive of many beautiful seaside towns such as Salem, MA, Portsmouth, NH, and Ogunquit, ME. We had a great time! Thank You!

We had an amazing two week stay. The air is so fresh on Plum Island.

Steve's cottage is perfect. He has it well stocked with everything you need and it's very comfortable to hang out in. Morning sunrise over the river is so beautiful. We loved walking to the end of the road for sunsets. He lives on the most friendly street and we look forward to talking with his neighbors again next year. We did a lot of site sightseeing on Plum Island, Newbury, and every Beautiful Beach along the way. We really enjoyed getting takeout from Loretta in Newburyport, Outdoor dining at Bob Lobster and Woodsman's. Thank you, Steve, for being a perfect host!
